Clarence Wigmore Sherlock, 95, died March 14, 2018 in Helena, MT. He was born June 6, 1922 in Toston/Raidersburg, Montana, to Jonathon and Mary Sherlock. He was the oldest of 13 children. He was married to Jean L. Miller Geier on June 27, 1964 (Deceased December 2, 2014). They enjoyed over 50 years together living in several places lastly Enumclaw, WA~Boulder, MT and then here in Helena, MT at Touchmark for the last almost 14 years in their “cottage”.
Clarence was one of the last remaining Air Force WWll and Korean War Veterans. He was able to travel to many different places during his Service Years. He also served as a Volunteer Fire Fighter for many years. He was a Shriner, a Mason Boulder/Basin Lodge No. 41 and a Member of the Josephine Hepner Order of Eastern Star No. 89. He was the Mayor of Boulder, MT. Clarence and Jean loved working in their yard(s) and grew amazing gardens and loved to travel in their motorhome! His last years after Grandma Jean passed were spent with Family and Friends, Cards on Tuesdays at 1:00, Lawrence Welk on Saturday evenings, gardening~picking apples, and having Skitters their cat sitting on his lap loving him.
Here is a “note” that Grandpa left, that he wrote a few years ago…My Life’s Story:
“As I walk down the street of my home, in my home town, thinking of all of the good friends that we have: I was born on June 6, 1922 on the ranch my grandfather homesteaded. I had two dogs as I grew up~ Lady and Sport. I worked in the hay fields irrigating and helped with plowing and harvesting, and gardening. When I was in High School my mother would go with me to attend FFA. My mother was a very hard worker; she could make the best angel food cake. Neighbors were after her all of the time to bake for them. I wanted to be a Veterinarian, but hard times forbid it. Dad worked all sorts of jobs so he could support the family during the Great Depression days. I was the oldest of 13. I was working for M.M. Mining. Bob Hensley and I went to the Park in Wyoming over Labor Day in 1940. The most important thing was when my brother Ray and I went in to the Civilian Conservation Corps. We went to Neihart Montana for 6 months, after I was discharged from the Civilian Conservation Corps. I went to Great Falls MT and worked on a dairy farm, then went to work for Thistad Motors in Great Falls until the War was declared. I enlisted in the US Army Air Corps. Then went to FT Douglas Utah to Texas to Porto Rico to Panama to Equador then back to the States. Then to Amarillo TX to AM (his typing!) School to Chanute, IL for Electrician School then to South Carolina until I was discharged in 1945. I was recalled in 1949 until I was discharged in 1953. I worked various jobs until Boeing hired me as an Aircraft Electrician. I worked on the first B52 Program, then on the first 707. I also worked in the Space Center on the first Shuttle Mock Up. I retired in 1980 due to disabilities. We had a Family Reunion in Boulder, MT in 1990. Well Attended.”

George Lane, Sec. #41 says
The Brothers of Boulder-basin Masonic Lodge #41 wish to extend our deepest sympathies to the Sherlock family. Brother Clarence was a great Mason as well as a fine man. We were all the better for having known him in Lodge as well as in life. He will be greatly missed and there will always be an empty seat in Lodge
