Harvey L Marshall embarked on his latest road trip on Thursday November 26th 2015. He passed after a brief fight with cancer and an extended battle with multiple lung illnesses.
Harvey was born on January 15, 1939 to Harold and Agnes Marshall. He was raised in the Avon and Elliston area and graduated from Powell County High School Class of 1957. He married the one and only love of his life, Barbara Sparing on June 11, 1960. He and Barbara shared 48 years together until her passing on June 20, 2008. They raised two children, Kathy and Doug. Harvey and Barb owned and operated Hobart Sales and subsequently D & H Valley Storage. He worked hard his entire life and knew the value of that labor. Harvey was very proud of his three grandchildren Kelsey, Kelan and Justin. He would also include in the family every single German Shepherd that lived in his house or Kathy’s. He often spoke of his long eared, long nosed grandson’s. They were his “partners.”
Harvey is survived by his daughter Kathy (Rob) Bean, son Doug Marshall, grandchildren Kelsey (Jason) Peaslee, Kelan Farry and Justin Marshall. His sister Doris (Doug) Crachy, nephew Travis (April) Jess (Tara), and Paige Brazill. His extended family Rhonda, John and Shelby Schaffer, Tyler (Jessica) Pipinich, Karen Lindquist, and Miranda and Jacob Prevel. This would not be complete without a special acknowledgement to Harvey and Barbara’s lifelong friend Sara Morris. Sara shared her life with Harvey and Barbara and it is impossible to describe the importance she held in their lives. Bless you Sara.
A viewing will be held from 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 2, 2015 at Anderson Stevenson Wilke Funeral Home, 3750 N. Montana Ave. A Funeral Service is scheduled for 11:00 a.m. Thursday, December 3, 2015 at Anderson Stevenson Wilke Funeral Home, 3750 N. Montana Ave., with a reception to follow the service at Jorgenson’s Restaurant, 1720 11th Ave. Memorials are suggested to the Wounded Warrior Project or the local Helena Kiwanis, PO BOX 4178, Helena, MT 59604.
Harvey had an infectious smile, a great sense of humor and used both constantly. If you could not laugh around Harvey you could not laugh at all. He will be missed.

Harvey was one of my favorite clients. I miss that wonderfull smile and playful attitude. He was a hard worker, and I knew he was a lot smarter than he would have me believe. I think he lost a step when he lost Barb. She was his rock and he was hers. Condolences to the whole family.

I am so sorry to hear of Harvey’s passing. Sunday mornings were not complete without his jovial manner at LCC. Harvey and Barb will now rest in peace for eternity.

Doug and Cathy,
We are so sorry for your loss. Barb and Harvey were Godparents to my daughter Kelly Crum Perkins. They were the best Godparents ever. They never missed a card or a note on Kelly’s birthday or other special occasions. When we were all much younger…(40 plus years ago) we were neighbors in Mel and Joyce’s trailer court by Barney Park. We had so much fun with Barb and Harvey as our neighbors. We were so blessed to know them and to share some good times with these very special people. We pray for God’s strength for both of you to get through this difficult time.

My Dear Dear Friend Kathy, I’am so sorry for your loss of your wonderful dad. He was one of a kind, and very special to me as your mother was too. I truly know why you are the way you are, I’ve been so blessed by knowing your family, just know I’am praying for each of you and May our Lord wrap his arms around you tightly. Love you! Kathy. Doug, and families:
We are so very sorry and saddened to hear about your Dad and Grand Dad’s passing. He was a gentle man and a gentleman. We were truly blessed to be a part of your loving family for all these years and we share the loss of this wonderful man who married a wonderful woman. We might have been family friends but more than that, we were always treated like we were family.
Soon the tears will be replaced with laughter as you remember Dad. Thank you for sharing Mom and Dad with us.
Love, Heather Moon and Penney Eathorne Sey

Kathy, Kelsey, Rob, Family & Friends of Harvey,
I’m so sorry to hear of the loss of Harvey. You all are in my thoughts and prayers.
Kathy – My heart really goes out to you knowing how much you loved and pal’d around with your dad. His visits to the office were such a joy with all his funny stories and that big smile on his face. His laugh was truly contagious. I hope you can find some comfort knowing he has been reunited with the love of his life and again, your mother, and Cash, and is with our Lord and Savior. A piece of him will continue live on in your beautiful spirit and smile. Big hugs.
Love, Kaysee –
