Hank was one of a kind. I accompanied Hank when he took and PASSED his driver’s license test at 100 and 101! My wife and I were neighbors of Hank and BJ since 1983, but I really
got to know him in the last 2 plus years. Oh, the stories he shared. Such as the time he moved from Oregon when he was 16 or so and stopped for gas. There was a gas war going and the attendant offered to sell him gas at ten cents a gallon. The attendant had a 50 gallon drum, which he helped Hank tie onto the back of his Essex roadster. Once filled with gas, Hank drove it very slowly on to Helena! He is back with BJ, the love of his life. Godspeed, my friend.

When I was a boy Hank was my unqualified hero. What wasn’t said in the obit was that Hank was one of the best stock car drivers and mechanics that Helena ever saw . He was very kind to a young boy and hired him into Smith Dahl Motors and also sold him a motor for a hot rod he was building . I will never forget his kindness and support .

Hank was a long time friend, “brother”, to my dad, George Larson. They were great business partners and life long friends. Happy Cruising my friend!

We live in Indiana and met Hank during our trips to Helena to see my sister Billie Teders and her friend, Donald McLellan. Don for many, many years looked after Hank (and BJ also prior to her passing) doing yard work, snow removal and assisting them in whatever was needed….Don was like the son Hank never had. Billie was also good to Hank and baked numerous pumpkin pies, banana nut bread and meat loafs for Hank to enjoy. Don and Billie brought much joy into Hanks life. We have very fond memories of the times that we got to visit Hank and stories Billie and Don have shared. RIP Hank.

Hank shared many stories and happening’s throughout his life with us. Hank could have written a book and it would in my eyes have been a #1 best seller. I will hold close all those stories Hank. You will be greatly missed. Billie
