James (Jim) Lee Eickmeyer passed away peacefully on November 19, 2015 with his daughters by his side.
Jim was born December 9, 1933 to Christian Eickmeyer and Agnes O’Donnell, in Helena, Montana. His father died when Jim was 5 years old. Jim enlisted in the Navy in 1953 during the Korean War. As a decorated veteran, he continued to serve as Guardsman.
Jim married Jean Yeager in Helena where they made their home with three daughters, Kim, Terry and Lori. He worked for Caird Engineers. After the divorce to Jean, Jim moved to Spokane Washington and worked for Western Metal Industry, also caring for his ailing mother. Jim returned to Helena and was a man that honored the Veterans of America. He always wore the hat ‘Veterans Made America # 1’
He is preceded in death by: his father Christian Eickmeyer; Mother and Step Father Agnes and Lew Kramp; eldest daughter Kim.
Jim is survived by: his daughters, Terry (Mike) Clark of Belgrade, Lori Cole of Helena; grandchildren, Shaun Capps, Monica (Dan) Luciano, Brandon Capps, Beau (Charli) Clark, Josh (Katie) Clark, Sara (John) Gottschalk, Chad (Kim) Cole, Carmon (Jaramia) Bunker and Tyler Cole. He has 12 great grandchildren and another on the way.
The family would like to give a special thanks to Burger King and McDonalds for serving Jim mornings and afternoons. They would also like to extend the greatest appreciation to the nursing staff at Big Sky Care for making his stay the most comforting while meeting his best friends.
At Jim’s request, there will be a private family ceremony and be placed at Forestvale Cemetery. Memorial donations are suggested to any Veteran Organization of your choice. Please visit below to offer a condolence to the family or to share a memory of Jim.
