Margaret Amelia Jones passed away on February 6, 2018 at the age of 99.
Margaret was born in Butte, Montana on July 19, 1918. She was the only daughter of George and Margaret Jones.
She was a lifetime resident of Butte and very proud of her hometown. It was there that she met her future husband, Chet Jones. They were married on May 27, 1941. He preceded her in death in 1998.
Margaret was a homemaker and a talented seamstress. She delighted in designing special outfits for her daughters, Diane and Lenette. Mom loved surprising us at the breakfast table with handmade gifts for each and every holiday.
She made friends easily and always offered a pleasant welcome to all. She is known for her spunk and fun-loving attitude about life..…always looking forward, never back. Mom never felt ready for the day unless she was dressed as soon as she arose with necklace, earrings and of course brightly painted nails.
Margaret moved to Helena in 2004 to be closer to her family. She lived at Hunters Pointe and Rosetta House where she participated in all activities and especially loved the weekly BINGO!
Survivors include daughters, Diane Himes (Marshall) of Battle Ground Washington and Lenette Caruso (Paul) of Helena; grandchildren, Troy Himes (Shelece), Gina Himes Boor (Chris), Amy Caruso Quarles (Josh), and Jill Caruso (Matt Donald) and 7 great grandchildren.
Thank you to the caring staffs of Hunters Pointe, Rosetta Assisted Living and St. Peter’s Hospital.
As per Margaret’s wishes there will be no memorial service. Memorials may be sent to the charity of your choice.
