Mariah Nicole Swingley of Helena departed this world for heaven at 17 years old, after sustaining fatal injuries in a car crash on August 27, 2015.
She is survived by her mother, Roxanne Allen, her father and step mother, Jeffrey and Traci Swingley, her sisters, Brooke Swingley and Brandi Stevens, her brother, Christian Swingley, step siblings Adam, Tommy, Zach, Izzy, and Gabby Clinch, her maternal grandparents, David and Peggy Allen, her paternal grandparents, Bob and Jan Silberling, Ken and Deb Swingley and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and friends, whom she loved passionately.
Mariah was born on October 18, 1997, in Spokane, Washington. She was a talented singer, dancer, gifted pianist and violinist with a fabulous sense of humor, an infectious laugh, and a heart for the downtrodden. In the face of adversity, we could imagine her leaping tall buildings and laughing in the face of danger…because with the Lord by her side, that is what she did. She was beautiful, courageous, smart, wise, and goofy, all in one special package, with a kind heart and immeasurable faith. Mariah was a local activist, dividing her time between managing her anti-bullying Facebook page “Niceness is Priceless”, organizing community outreach programs addressing issues ranging from suicide awareness to war memorial restoration. She loved writing and recording music, composing her first piece at the age of 3. After years of struggling with a rare genetic illness, Mariah was determined to become a doctor specializing in rare disease and genetic disorders, emphasizing the importance of incorporating compassion and support into all forms of treatment. Most of all, Mariah was loved, deeply, immeasurably, and profoundly. Her dreams are not lost, but will continue on in the presence of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, without chronic pain or the struggles of this world.
Revelation 21:4 He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.”

I first loved Mariah when this sweet little girl walked into my dance class with her tiny little tap shoes and took the floor as if she owned it. I first loved her mom when she opened her heart to all the little girls around Mariah and did anything and everything to make their performances and dance classes a wonderful experience. The two are still two peas in a pod; enough love to fill a room, always thinking of everyone else but themselves first, and always a smile on their faces. Even though one remains and the other has moved on to a new life, their presence is always felt, and always will be. Please remember Roxanne, Mariah is still with you, she is just in a place you are unable to visit for this time being.
Theresa Scarber says

Theresa & Steve White says
I do not have every one’s addresses so I am sending Steve and my condolences using this Thought’s and Memories forum.
Your Spokane family send our love and support during this very difficult time.
The obituary was beautifully written describing a very special young lady who was a gift to each and everyone she touched in her life. We regret that we did not know Mariah and we know that if we did we ours lives would have been richer for doing so.
Marian’s spirit and love will be part of everyone who was special to her and even those who she touched indirectly.
We love you all and we will keep you in our thoughts and prayers.
Love,
Your cousin and niece Theresa White and husband Steve
