On October 14th, Marissa Kay Dullum Hartford made a safe flight from earth below to dwell eternally with God above. The angels welcomed our beautiful Sissy while we will thank her for the gift her life brought to each and every one of us.
Sissy, as she was affectionately called by family, was born in Helena, Montana on June 18, 1988 to Pam Bourassa and Don Dullum. To her family, she was a fun-loving, laughter filled, golden hearted and affectionate wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, cousin, granddaughter and niece. She lit up a room just by walking into it. To others, friends, and all who knew her, she was the heart full of love & laughter. She loved to have a beer with friends, go riding horses, spend time with family, friends, play with her animals and of late spend a lot of time with her precious son, Wyatt and loving husband, Jed. She was taken too soon from us due to complications resulting from a C-section and had 3 short, beautiful loving weeks with her son, Wyatt.
Marissa graduated from Helena High School in 2006 just before she turned 18. She joined the US Air Force just a few weeks after graduation and after boot camp and AIT, she was stationed in Valdosta, Georgia. Marissa was a Technical Sergeant in the United States Air Force and worked on electronic equipment on C-130’s on the Moody Air Force Base. It was there that she met and married the love of her life, Jed Hartford. Marissa and Jed were married February 10th, 2013 in Valdosta, Georgia. They loved fishing, be it during the day or in the dark of night, hanging with friends, or just hanging at home with each other and their beloved animals, Dozer, Axel, Haven, Avalanche, their kitten, Kitty and her snake, Killian.
She was a hard-worker, enjoyed her job and was proud to serve her country in the Air Force. She was also an organ donor, so her life lives on in others. Marissa loved to help out at the horse farms exercising horses in her spare time and when she was deployed overseas, would go to some of the wild life preserves and get to see and work with some of the wild animals there. She loved life and lived it to the fullest.
She is survived by her husband, Jed and her son, Wyatt; her mom and dad, brother, Casey Dullum, nephew, Shannon Dullum; grandmother, Evelyn Bourassa; grandmother, Julie Dullum; Cousins, Ashley (Jake) Harris, Mariah Adsem, Kelsey (Nicholas) Stamper, Dwane (Amber) Dullum, Ali Ray Lizotte, many aunts, uncles and other relatives. She was preceded in death by Papa Bob Bourassa, Papa Fritz Dullum, Cousin Darryl Dullum.
A Celebration of Marissa’s Life with Military Honors is scheduled for 11:00 a.m. Friday, October 30th, 2015 at Anderson Stevenson Wilke Funeral Home, 3750 N. Montana Ave. A reception will follow the service in the Banquet Hall of the Funeral Home.
A FALLEN LIMB
A limb has fallen from the family tree.
I keep hearing a voice that says, “Grieve not for me.
Remember the best times, the laughter, the song,
The good life I lived while I was strong.
Continue my heritage, I’m counting on you.
Keep smiling and surely the sun will shine through.
My mind is at ease, my soul is at rest.
Remembering all, how I truly was blessed.
Continue traditions, no matter how small.
Go on with your life, don’t worry about falls.
I miss you all dearly, so keep up your chin.
Until the day comes we’re together again.

I grew up with Marissa. I remember her always being able to make anyone laugh regardless of the situation. Over the years we lost touch but i always remember her for her bravery, her friendship and her caring personality. She will be deeply missed

Della Dobbins says
Marissa was such a wonderful girl. I can remember the first time she came to my dance class. Satin & Lace Rockett’s. She loved to dance and worked very hard to make our team look good for 12 years. When she was talking about joining the Air Force she would ask me question about my son Eddy, because he was a Crew Chief on F16 (now C130). I know she is flying high with her fellow members and watching over each of us. Keep your chin up Pam, Don & Casey.
Love ya all
Della, Eddy, Cassie & Brandie.

What a terrible tragedy. Such a young soul taken way too soon. I can not imagine what your family is going through. Please believe my whole family has you all in our thoughts and prayers. I met your daughter once many years ago when she was just a small little girl. To her husband Jed and her son Wyatt, she will be with you always. With love from my family.

So sorry for your loss, My sister is Ann Evenson, she has two brothers that are United States Marines, and A Sister that is Army, Although she never has served, she has a great apprciation of the Military. She understands respect and tradition for the men that escorted her home and cried as she related the story tonight to me. A Flight Attendent of 30 years, nothing has ever made such an impression on her. That is why I offer my condolence as well. She was really touched, And if you dont ever find out, I will tell you she made sure the escorts were treated with the upsmost respect. I hope your family takes comfort that Marrisa was taken care of on her way home.
Regards,
