MARGIE (DIXON) CHAMBERLIN DUCKETT
Aug. 28, 1924 – Oct. 26, 2014
Our dear mother, “Margie,” passed away at her home in Lakewood WA after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born Marjorie Louise Dixon in Basin MT to parents Frank and Ellen Dixon who preceded her in death, as did her sister, 3 brothers (all from Jefferson City MT), as well as all aunts, uncles, brothers/sisters-in-law. Margie grew up in Jefferson in a small log home built by her father. She attended grade school there and after graduating from Boulder High School in May 1941 she married our father, Ertel S. Chamberlin. Before starting a family Mom was a nurse’s aide, hotel maid and a cook at a gold mine. She also worked as a florist after raising 4 children.
As a military wife, Margie lived in 11 states. She loved watching patriotic air shows and all things about flying. In later years she enjoyed travel, gardening and golf. She loved being a mother and the wife of 2 Air Force pilots. After Dad passed away, she married long-time family friend, Col. Wayne G. Duckett, in 1972. Mourning the loss of our “guiding light” are sons Richard E. (Barbara) and Charles N. Chamberlin, daughters Susan K. and Linda F. Chamberlin. Mom will also be sadly missed by stepsons Wayne G. Jr. (Frances), and Brian M. (Loretta) Duckett, and our dear stepdaughters Lynn (David) Young. Mom wished to say that each of her 4 grandsons and 2 granddaughters brought a special joy to her life. They are Shawn (Michelle) McGrane, Richard E.L. Chamberlin, Teresa L. Chamberlin, Charles A. “Tony” and Benjamin R. (Dana) Garcia, and Ellen J. Chamberlin.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on Nov. 7, 2014 at the Anderson Stevenson Wilke Funeral Home, 3750 N. Montana Avenue, Helena MT, with reception to social center of the funeral home. Mom will be laid to rest Nov. 8 next to our father at the Mountain View Cemetery in Livingston MT, after a family graveside service.

Carol Strom says
Altho I did not know Marge very well, I do remember her and Wayne being very good friends, with my Mom and Dad, Martha and Ed Strom. I just wanted to take a minute to say her passing will cause great loss, not only to Mom, but to our family as well. RIP Marge, you are now at peace and flying HIGH watching down on your family and loved ones.
LINDA CHAMBERLIN says
We Chamberlin “kids” want to thank all of you that attended Mom’s service November 7.
I know we were all so proud of our momma, grandma and she will be missed by many. I was so proud of our children that came from far away to be there for us.
We will be having the memorial service in Washington (Lakewood Mt.View Funeral Home) on December 6, 2014 if anyone would like to be there ,they are surely welcome.
We know Mom would me smiling down and happy that we were all together. God bless all of you for your kind words, calls and cards. Thank you so much.
