On October 29th, Martha Ellen Nudd Baker passed away peacefully at the age of 65, at St Pete’s Hospital in Helena, surrounded by her family. She was born on June 27th 1949 in Lebanon NH, and eldest daughter to Kenneth and Olive Nudd. In 1967, she graduated from Beaverhead County High School, and 4 years later she married Dale Baker, in 1971. Together they were blessed with their pride and joy, Kristi Anne. Martha was also blessed with 2 grandchildren, Kyler and Logan O’Connell.
Martha has touched many lives throughout her life, and loved to volunteer. Most recently, she was an avid volunteer with the Lincoln’s Roses Red Hat Society. In years past, she was also affiliated with the Chamber of Commerce and the Dillon Jaycees. She also is well known for her everlasting love of animals. Since 1976, Martha either worked in or owned pet stores in NH, MT, and OR.
Martha is survived by her husband, Dale Baker of Lincoln MT, daughter Kristi O’Connell of Helena MT, sister Kay Erstad of Boise ID, grandchildren Kyler and Logan O’Connell of Helena MT, nephew Gus Senst of Whitehall MT, niece Bonnie Longie of Graham WA, nephews Rick DuBois of Whitehall MT, Bryan Longie of Dillon MT, Kevin Allen of Boise ID, niece Brenda Longie-Landon of Dillon MT, and nephew Kelly Allen of Boise ID, several in-laws and cousins.
Martha is preceded in death by her parents Ken and Olive Nudd of Dillon MT, her Uncle Donald Nudd of Dillon MT, sisters Wanda Longie of Dillon MT, and Dorothy Jordan of Whitehall MT.
A Celebration of Her Life will take place on Tuesday, November 4, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Anderson Stevenson Wilke Funeral Home, 3750 N. Montana Ave., with a reception to follow in the social center of the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers please make memorials to the Humane Society of Beaverhead County, 80 Lagoon Ln, Dillon, Montana 59725.
