Michael Carson “Mick” Hamilton passed away on June 12, 2014 at Benefis Hospital in Great Falls with his family by his side.
Mick was born to Robert and Barbara Hamilton on May 19, 1952 in Helena.
He welcomed his first son, Jeremy, on February 28, 1973, from his first marriage. After serving in the United States Navy and attending college, Mick returned to Helena, where he began his career at Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Montana. It was there that he met his love Nancy Jacobsen and they married on May 2, 1992. They welcomed their son, Brian, on July 9, 1996.
Mick was a devoted husband and a loving father and son. He enjoyed camping, fishing, and spending time with his family. He fought cancer and its after-effects with courage and dignity. He was loved and will be missed, but his friends and family will remember him fondly and will smile when they recall his sense of humor.
Survivors include his mother, Barbara Hamilton; wife, Nancy; sons, Jeremy (Kim) and Brian; four grandchildren, Jaden and Sean Hamilton, Laci (Austin) Moore, and Kyle Lake; sister Tina (Morgan Wolfe) Hamilton; nephew Sean (Heather) Hamilton. Other surviving relatives include a great-nephew, cousins, aunts, uncles, and special brothers- and sisters-in-law.
Mick was preceded in death by his father, Robert; brother, Daniel Hamilton; and grandparents.
The family invites friends to come celebrate Mick’s life. A reception will be held at 4 p.m. at the Service Club at Fort Harrison on Monday, June 16th.

OMG, I do not know where to start, except to say I am so sorry for your loss! I did a search for a man and woman I have thought about for over 30 years and I had no hits for the past year. This morning I got a hit… BTW, the picture is how I remember him! We were classmates in NAS Virginia Beach. He was a squid and I was a jarhead, but Mick and Pam where my best friends for over a year. When we parted, I never thought it would be last time I ever saw them, but… Time slips away. My deepest sympathies to all that knew him and if I may make a toast to one of my dearest Sailors, ” Here’s to honor…”!
All my love,
Lloyd Cohen CPL USMC (81-85)
