Patricia F. Stanton passed away comfortably on 2/3/18 from flu complications. Pat was born 3/28/1928 in Sharon, CT and raised in Lakeville. She married Stephen A. Stanton in 1949 and soon had a small family. Greener pastures soon called and the family moved to Tampa FL. Pat found her calling working at the University of South Florida Library while Steve found his as a deputy sheriff. The white mountains called in 1976 and they moved to Helena, Montana. Steve passed in ’81’ and Pat continued working, making friends and enjoying family and life. She worked at for the Helena Police and Lewis and Clark Sheriff Department from 1984-90 and then at the City/County building until retirement. All of her immediate family has passed along with a grandchild and great grandchild. She is survived by daughters, Sue(Norb) Roth of Helena, Karen(Butch) Phillips of Deer Lodge, son Paul(Shirley Chesterfield) Stanton of Helena; grandchildren Steve(Blakely) Roth, Tona(Ken) Iwen, Nikki(Dan) Ingram, David Phillips(fiancée Dawn Blevins), and Jherianne(Keegan) Fluke; along with 9 great grandchildren. The family would like to thank all the wonderful attendants at Aspen/Beehive homes for their care these last months and especially these last days. In lieu of flowers, a donation to St. Peter’s Cancer Treatment Center who extended her life for 20 years or St. Peter’s Hospice who made her comfortable at the end.
A celebration of Pat’s life will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, February 12th at Anderson Stevenson Wilke Funeral Home, 3750 N. Montana Avenue. A reception will follow in the social hall of the funeral home. Pat was the “voice” of the City-County when the central switchboard was the initial means of contact. She handled her duties with grace and good humor. I always looked forward to our daily hello and conversations. My condolences to Pat’s family. May good memories comfort you at this time. Lynn Moon
