Ronald E Doyra, 4/28/1949-8/23/2015
Son of Blossom (Cosgrove) Doyra and DDS Eli William Doyra. Born in Minneapolis Minnesota. Raised in Great Falls, MT. Graduated from Great Falls High School. Graduated from Northern Montana College in 1974. While at Northern, he met and married Brenda Freeman. They married Feb 1, 1970. They had three daughters together. Deanna, Tammy, and Gerri. He worked several different jobs. Great Northern Railroad, teacher, farmer, Big Bud tractors, Meatcutter, weedsprayer. Brenda and Ron later divorced in 1987. He then met Brenda Brough, and married her in 2005.
Ron loved to fish and hunt. His hunting travels took him to the Arctic Circle, Alaska, Russia, Zimbabwe, Zambia, South Africa, Arizona, Louisiana, and Texas. And of course Montana. He enjoyed being outdoors, hunting with his wife, sons-in-law, and later grandchildren. He loved to reload his own bullets, and was a walking encyclopedia on shooting history. He learned the taxidermy trade and this proved to be advantageous. All of his grandchildren were taught to hunt and shoot (in some part) by Grandpa Ron.
He was very handy and could fix almost anything! He was a true Jack of all Trades! He loved telling jokes, and could remember some from the second grade! He really enjoyed the lies, and tall tales that he swapped with Calvin. Each had to see if they could out do the other.
He enjoyed going to Arizona, and taking in all of the activities during the winter, spending time first, with his mother-in-law, and later with Calvin. It was in Arizona that he tried skydiving. Although his landing was not picture perfect as he had envisioned it.The guys went to the Barrette Jackson car show, and it was a true highlight for both of them. After having watched it on TV for years.
If you were out scouting deer, elk, or even fishing, it was always “just around the next corner”.
Ron will be missed by many. He was preceded in death by his parents, Eli and Blossom. He is survived by his wife Brenda, Daughters Deanna(Jimmy), Tammy (Walt), and Gerri (Greg) sons in law Greg,Bob, and Jim, and his Grandchildren Shaela and Blaze Waltee, Victor and Alex Pepe; Zeb and Racie Pearson, Zoe Stack; Landen and KyLee Lamphier.
There will be no funeral for Ron, but a celebration of life will be held at his favorite campground , Black Sandy in Helena, MT on Saturday, Aug 29. At noon. Light snacks to be provided.

As our mother used to say about Ron, “Never a dull moment at the Doyra house.” He was the life of the party when he wasn’t getting into trouble.
