Michael “Pops, Speedy, Handsome, Unc, Bro, Brolyttle, Mayor of Tickle City” Lewis Gray of Helena, Montana, departed this world on July 26, 2018 surrounded by family and friends. After a long battle to defeat cancer, he sustained injuries in an accidental fall that led to his meeting with The Creator.
He was born on July 9, 1956 in Thermopolis WY to Dorothy (Vail) Alm and William Charles Gray. Mike joined older siblings Jim, Angie, and Bill, and later had a younger sister Annette. He grew up in Casper WY and attended Natrona County High School and later received his GED. Mike spent a brief stint in the US Army, and after being honorably discharged, hitch-hiked his way across the United States. During his adventures, Mike met and became fast friends with many people of varying lifestyles and made life-long connections with too many to count.
Mike was an independent rider and was a friend to many Motorcycle Clubs. He was also a part of The Rainbow Family of Living Light, a member of the Native American Church resulting in his meeting a devoted friend, Leo Mercado who was a strong spiritual influence in Mike’s life, and he was of course, President of Trish Gray’s Fan Club. He quickly became an invaluable part of every family or group he encountered. Until meeting the love of his life, his first love was his Harley. He also enjoyed camping, traveling to spend time with friends and family, attending concerts, Teepee meetings, enjoying a beer or two, reading, wrestling with his grandsons, nieces and nephews (Mike was known as the “Backyard Heavy Weight Wrestling Champion of the World”) and loving his family.
Mike waited a long time to meet the love of his life Trish, and didn’t waste any time that he had with her. Along with Trish, Mike also gained a son Steven, two daughters Christy and Angel, and grandchildren, Drew and Bubba (who he loves as his sons), Marcus, Timmy, Jayse, Anthony, and Jordyn. His family was his number one priority and he spent every minute he could building memories and sharing adventures with them. This new family blended into Mike’s family seamlessly and fit like they have always been a part of it.
Mike is survived by his wife Trish (Helena MT), daughters Christy (Helena MT) and Angel (Denham Springs LA), Maryann (Oklahoma), daughter-in-law Brittany (Matthew) (Central LA), sisters Angela Smith (Price UT) and Annette (Michael) McReynolds (Helena MT), brothers Jim (Deborah) Gray (Denver CO) and Steven Richards (Casper WY), sisters-in-law Shelly Gray (Casper WY), CeCe (TJ) Collums and Amy Turnage (Gonzales LA), step-mother Patsy Alm (Casper WY), mother-in-law Mama Mickey (Samear) Zaitoon, numerous nieces and nephews, great nieces and great nephews, as well as many adopted relatives. He is preceded in death by his father William Charles Gray, mother Dorothy Gray Alm, step-father Richard Alm, brother William (Bill) Gray, son Steven (GA) Lange, great-nieces Hannah McReynolds and Tinlee Dockham, great-nephew Jameson Chewakin, and many other loved ones.

My heart goes out to Trish and everyone who has ever had the pleasure to meet this man. He came into my life over 35 years ago and it never was the same! The love and support with no judgement he gave me gave me strength and knowledge of what the world has in store for me and how to stand tall! He will forever have a piece of my heart and soul!
Here’s to Pops #2 to me! May you be in the wind with love and peace. Love you
Until we meet again!
