Sherry Charlotte Casey died peacefully at home on December 4, 2019. She was born on September 25, 1945 in Anaconda MT to Robert and Nora (Beatty) Eklund. On January 16, 1971 she married Jack Casey and together they raised their 4 children in Helena MT.
After graduating from Anaconda Central in 1963. She attended the College of Great Falls for three years, and graduated from the Billing Business College. She worked as a legal secretary, medical transcriptionist and then focused her energies on raising her children where she attended many of their orchestra concerts and sporting events. Later in life, she worked as a sales associate at Macy’s, which led her to be Make-a-wish Queen of 2003.
Sherry enjoyed many hobbies over the years from cake decorating, pottery, shopping at Macy’s and gambling. One of her most beloved trips she took was with her dad Bob, on a Pilgrimage to Medjugorje where she continued to develop a profound relationship with the blessed Mother. She was unrelenting in her spiritual journey and taught her children and many around her to deepen their spiritual faith.
She is preceded in death by her father and mother, Bob and Nora Eklund. Her father and mother-in-law, Woodrow and Mary Casey. Her brother-in-law Woody Casey, and sister-in-law Franny Casey.
She is survived by her husband Jack Casey and their 4 children and 10 grandchildren, daughter Stacey Darragh(Chris)-Curran, Caelan and Ryan. Daughter Shauna Schad(Paul)-Brea and Mac. Son Kevin Casey(Jenny)- Jack, Joey, Kylie, and Karsen. Son Kelly Casey(Megan)-Charlotte. Her brother Jack Eklund(Edie), and her sister Gerianne Marchion(Chris). Her sister-in-law Mary Ellen Hull(Corky), and sister-in-law Patricia Casey. She loved all her cousins, too numerous to list. Many nieces and nephews who she deeply loved: Greg Eklund, Scott Eklund(Margret), Tammy Eklund, Jamie Abbate(Joe), Tommi Howell(Dave), Russ Marchion(Melissa), Christina Marchion(Lee Stahl), TJ Hull(Michelle), Heather Moyle(Sean), Mollie Hull, Casey Hull, Robbie Casey, and Megan Casey.
The Rosary will be prayed at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 12th at Anderson Stevenson Wilke Funeral Home, 3750 N. Montana Ave. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, December 13th at Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church, 1502 Shirley Road, with Father Dan Shea officiating. Burial will follow the Mass at Resurrection Cemetery. A reception will follow the burial in the social hall at the church.
