Aaron Eslick, 41, passed away at his home in Helena on February 27, 2018 after a long 4 year battle with his seizure disorder that eventually took his life.
Aaron was born February 14, 1977 in Helena Montana, and graduated from Capital High School in 1995. He made some very special life-long friends that he held very dear to him.
From a very young age Aaron became a die-hard Chicago Bears fan. It even went so far that he had the team’s logo tattooed on his arm and would often be seen sporting his Bears gear everywhere he went. The Bears weren’t the only team he love, the Cubs also held a huge place in his heart. He marked a check on his bucket list when the Cubbies won the World Series in 2016.
Aaron had a passion for cooking and made it his profession. He cooked at many restaurants in Helena, but was most recently the kitchen manager at I-Hop. I-Hop wasn’t just a job for him, but the place he met the love of this life Angie. In the words of Angie, they just “got” each other, and he had finally met his match!
Aaron was blessed with four beautiful children throughout his life. Blake, DreeAnna, Tanyan, and Ari. While he didn’t get to see them every day, he loved to watch them grow. In 2006 Aaron was blessed with a special son, Tanyan. Aaron often would tell people, Tanyan saved his life and gave him purpose. Aaron enjoyed gathering with friends and family, but now we know all too well that there was never enough time.
He is preceded in death by his great grandmother Della Staph, his maternal grandparents Lou and John Balkema, and paternal grandparents Johnny Eslick and Irma Eslick Speer and aunt Robin Balkema.
In addition to his children he is survived by his true love Angie Tavary, his father and step mother Sharon and Gordon Eslick, his mother and step father Kathy and Dave Goroski, siblings Amanda (Jason) Smith, Josh (Sara) Goroski, Katie Eslick (Rich), Jordan (Ry) Paull, nieces Hannah Smith and Charley Goroski and nephews Payton Saccheri and Emerson Paull, cousins Jo Jo Eslick and children, Cory (April) Eslick, Shandelle, Brian and Avery Renstrom and Jennifer Balkema, cousin Timmie Sue Williams and Family, uncles John (Cristy) Eslick, Bob Balkema, Rod Applegate, and Grandparents Jean and Clarence Applegate.

Aaron was a boyfriend and accompanied me to my HS prom. I remember him as a respectful, thoughtful lover, which can be a rare find for a young woman. Years later Aaron always took the time to chat with my parents and adult siblings when he saw them around town. My prominent memory of Aaron is his comedic presence and contagious laughter. My condolences to you Aaron’s family and friends. Sincerely, M. Yap

I was a very shy kid but from the first time Aaron and I met way back at Four Georgians we were fast friends. I will forever remember him laughing and smiling over jokes ranging from bad puns to sarcastic punch lines. To my long time friend I say cheers. To all those left behind, may the love that surrounds you ease your pain and bring peace to your broken hearts.

I met Aaron when we were just little kids and he always had the best sense of humor and the sweetest smile. He was so good to everyone, all of us in school– always used kind words and accepted others for who they were. Such a beautiful soul. Prayers and love for all you, his family and friends.

My condolences to all that knew him. I knew him for only a few short years and he was such a sweet person and a great friend. He always talked about his children, even when he couldn’t be there with them and never heard him badmouthing anyone for anything. I know he will be missed greatly by many, especially the people that saw how humble and kind his heart was. Thanks buddy for always being a friend!

Kathy… so sorry to hear of Aaron’s passing. Just when I was getting to know him through his many UBER trips. Took me back through the years when I first knew you. He was such a nice young man and I was always happy to see his name pop up! One of the last things he said to me was, “my mom says hi!” My Thoughts and prayers are with you and your family at this sad time.
