Angela Louise Joki
April 27, 1960 – Jan 10, 2018
Angela Louise Joki passed away with her family by her side at St. Peters Hospital on January 10th, 2018 after a courageous fight with cancer for nearly eight years.
Angela was born to Velta and Jim Bruce in El Segundo, CA. She graduated from El Segundo High in 1978 with a letter in cross country and was an active member in the theatre program in high school and the community. While pursuing a career with TRW, in 1990 a boy from Butte Montana, Mike Joki, stole her heart. After much convincing, they moved to Helena Montana in 1992, and wed the following spring. They were blessed with two daughters, Jenna in October of ’94 and Hannah in February of ’97. Mike and Angela would have been married twenty-five years this coming May.
Angela was very involved with her daughters which included their participation in dancing, volleyball, soccer, and their academics. She loved summer days on their boat at lake Hauser, only second to hosting dinners and parties for her family and friends. Few people had her enthusiasm for life and her compassion for others.
Angela started her career in Helena at Valley Bank, worked for several trade associations, and spent the last 10+ years working for Montana Telecommunication Association.
Angela was preceded in death by her father Jim, mother Velta, and sister Donnie Warnock. Survivors include husband Mike (Jake), daughters Jenna and Hannah, and brothers Bobby and Randy. Survivors also include many in-laws, cousins, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and countless friends in Montana and California.
Memorial service will be held Friday, January 19th, 2018, at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church at 2PM. A reception will follow at the Brondel Center in the basement of the Cathedral of St. Helena. In lieu of flowers, please send memorials to the Joki Educational Fund set up at the Valley Bank of Helena.
Our family would like to thank the medical staff at St. Peters Hospital, especially Doctor Tom Weiner, and the Oncology Staff.
