On 12-31-2016, New Year’s Eve, Ann Lucille “Lucy” Bossell died peacefully at home surrounded by her family. Ann was 86 years old.
Ann was born on August 6, 1930 in Winifred MT, to Johanna H. and John P. Tuss, the 10th of 10 children. She grew up on the family ranch, getting away with things that only the baby of the family could (as was told by her siblings!).
Ann attended grade school in Winifred. When her father retired from ranching, they moved to Lewistown, living in the stone house that he built. She attended high school at St. Leo’s Catholic School, graduating in 1948.
Upon graduation Ann moved to Helena. There working as a switchboard operator for the telephone company, her roommate Vi Bossell, set her up on a blind date with her brother, Westly – her future husband of 60 years.
Ann and Wes were married on October 8, 1949. During their marriage, they lived in many different houses, all of which Ann considered home. But the one she enjoyed the most was the ranch by Lakeside.
While raising their 5 children, Ann had a variety of jobs. From being the bookkeeper for Wes’ construction company to a realtor to working for the Crop & Livestock Reporting Service, her favorite one was being mom. Her family and her children were always her priority. She instilled in her children her strong values and convictions.
An excellent seamstress, Ann enjoyed creating everything from clothes for the family to doll clothes to quilts. She had a love for gardening, be it a vegetable or flower garden – Never did a weed or dandelion dare bloom in her garden!
Ann enjoyed many things in life – camping, traveling, seeing new places, doing new things. One of her favorite past times was a good game of cribbage. Many decks of cards where worn out in her house.
Ann was so many things to her family and friends. All were very special to her.
Ann was preceded in death by her husband Wes, her parents and 8 of her siblings. She is survived by her sister Frances Lozier, children Dave (Linda), Sandy, Karen (Dan) Trettin, Dan and Chris, her grandchildren Stephanie Bossell, Shaun (Denay) Trettin, Travis (Katie) Trettin, Eva & Westley Bossell and 9 great grandchildren.
We would like to thank the staff at St. Peter’s Hospice that was involved in mom’s care – You are all so very special.

Ann was a joy to work with. She always brought treats for the potlucks in the laundry. My favorite being her homemade cranberry bread. I have missed working with her and know that she was a special lady to all who came in contact withy her. May her family be blessed as they go through this difficult time.
