Anne Mola Tomlinson was born in Helena almost 101 years ago. She was born on June 9, 1916 joining her older brother, Johnnie. As neither could speak English, they were able to talk to each other as they learned the English language.
Anne attended schools in Helena and during WWII she worked as a “Rosie the Riveter” in an airplane factory in California where she met and married a Helena native, Everett Simmons.
Anne later married Arthur Tomlinson and her children increased from Carol and Dona to include Anna Marie and Art Jr. who was always known as “Butch”.
Anne was known and admired by all for her strong work ethic. During her life she wore many hats, including hod carrier and brick layer with and for her father. Her longest and best job was with USFG Insurance Company where she worked for forty years into her seventies. She made many friends during that time which included Mary Lou Fisher. One of Anne’s proudest moments was when she was told she was the first single mother to be granted a home loan. She was truly a pioneer in her own right.
Anne’s greatest joy was her family. She is survived by four children: Carol Brown (Don), Dona Blanchard (Allen), Anna Marie Mildren (Al), and Arthur “Butch” Tomlinson (Belinda). She is also survived by seven grandchildren: Tammie Brown-Butler (Jeff), Tracy Brown (AnnaLena), Rhonda Schlosser (Steve), Anita Gomes (Jess), Stephanie Boysen (Randy), Keith Mildren (Melissa), and Mary Mildren, she is also survived by 13 great-grandchildren along with her longest and most loyal and loved friends, John and Mary Lou Fisher.
Anne was preceded in death by her parents John and Anna Sustarsic Mola, her husband, Arthur Tomlinson and brothers, John and William Mola.

So sorry to hear of Aunt Anne’s passing. My deepest condolences to all my cousins. I consider myself fortunate to have been able to see Anne last summer in Helena, shortly after her 100th birthday. Rest in peace Anne.
