Born in Chester, PA to John and Kamilla (Anna) Petrosky (Piotrowski), Tony forged his way west as a young man, finally settling in Helena, Montana after meeting his wife of 72 years, Charlotte Gottfried in 1940. They relocated near Clancy, MT in 1967.
A WWII Navy Veteran, Tony served as a SeaBee in the Japanese occupied Solomon Islands for the duration of the war.
After the war, Tony worked as a carpenter/contractor, and many of the houses, schools, banks, and other buildings in Helena and surrounding areas still carry his fine craftsmanship.
He is survived by his wife, Charlotte, children Charles Petrosky, (Esther), Irene Price, Joe Petrosky (Deborah), and Susan Cammon (John), his sister Mary Coffey (Ed), 15 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren and 6 great-great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews. His sisters, Stella Bates and Josephine Petrosky of New Jersey, and grandson Rick Radke of Helena, MT precede him in death.
There will be open visitation hours from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Monday, December 17th at Retz Funeral Home. Graveside Service with military honors will be at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, December 18th at the Montana State Veterans Cemetery. A reception will immediately follow the burial at the Fort Harrison Service Club. In Lieu of flowers, memorial in Tony’s name may be sent to the Montana Military Museum Foundation, P.O. Box 125, Ft. Harrison, MT 59636.

Uncle Tony was kind of a legend to me. He could build anything and fix anything. He was adventurous. I am glad I got to see him on one of the last visits he made to see his sister, Stella, when I was also visiting her. I am proud to have had him for my Uncle.
Lynne and Pete says
Uncle Tony was a special man. I recall him as a little girl at my grandparents, Stella and CLyde Bates him playing checker with my siblings and I. We were fortunate to see him when he came to our home in Sacramento, Calif., in the 1990’s. Uncle Tony and my husband, Pete, had a fabulous time talking about his car the ‘rabbit’ and the engine. They sat and talked about WW2 as Pete’s dad was also in that war. I am lucky to have been his niece. We will miss him greatly. I feel better knowing he is in heaven with Stella, Joephine and Clyde. Rest in Peace sweet Uncle Tony.
