STEELE, Arlene, 80, of Helena passed away on February 17th, 2012.
With views of the majestic mountains and the glow of sunlight surrounding her, Arlene peacefully passed away February 17th, shortly after her 80th birthday.
Although Arlene lived in Helena just a little over a year, she truly loved the spirit of our community, the friendly smiles and the loving embrace she received wherever she went. Arlene made many friends during her short stay here in Helena.
She will be remembered for her quick wit, humor, and positive outlook on life. Arlene reveled in the abundant wildlife and beauty surrounding Helena; particularly enjoying the elk, bald eagles and the long horn cattle seen west of town.
She especially loved traveling the backroads of the mountains; enjoying the vistas, the wildflowers and the rustling of aspen trees in the wind. She is survived in Helena by her son Dr. Phillip Steele, his wife Beth and their daughter Kaiya, In Kansas City, by her son Greg, his wife Linda and their son Jonathan. Arlene’s family wishes to express their sincere gratitude for the excellent care she received from St. Peter’s Hospice and Hospital, and the staff at Touchmark.
A memorial service celebrating Arlene’s life will be 4:00 p.m. Friday, March 2, 2012 in the Forum at Touchmark (Waterford) 915 Saddle Drive.

Kaiya,Beth, and Phil – I am thinking of you today and wishing you strength as you cope with your loss. I am reading a book today in which the author says “My parents continue to inspire and encourage me, though they are no longer of this world.”

Dr. Steele and family.
I am so sorry to hear about your mom. My mom passed away in August, and I still miss her very much, but time does heal.
Enjoy the memories and time you got to spend with her while she was living in Helena close to you.
