In Memory Of

Arley W. ‘Bud’ Revious, age 68 of Clancy

November 21, 1947 – May 7, 2016

Arley Wayne “Bud” Revious left his earthly body to play among the stars on May 7, 2016, the one year anniversary of the passing of his beloved Yorkie, Squirt. Bud was 68 years old.

Bud was born in Fresno, California on November 21, 1947 to Fred and Luvene (Red) Revious. He was the 3rd of 5 children and the first son. The family moved to Spokane Washington when he was 13. Bud attended Lewis & Clark High School and after he graduated he worked for Rosauers and enlisted in the Washington National Guard as a traditional guardsman in September 1966.

Bud met Bonnie Peterson in 1968 and they were married in the Missionary Baptist church on January 11, 1969 in Spokane by Bud’s father. Bud and Bonnie moved to Helena in April that year and he transferred to the Montana National Guard. They had four children; Lloyd, Jason, Darby and Doug. They later divorced.

Bud held several jobs in Helena until he became a full time Active Guard and Reserve (AGR) in 1971. During his military career he earned the Army Reserve Component Medal, Army Commendation Medal, National Defense Service Medal with Bronze Star, Armed Forces Reserve Medal, Army Reserve National Guard Recruiter Badge and Meritorious Service Medal. Bud’s final assignment was as Inspector General. He was a Major when he retired from the military in August, 1992 after 26 years of service. After he retired from the National Guard, Bud worked as a bartender, a school custodian, a chemical plant manager and the State Emergency Coordination Center coordinator for the State of MT, Department of Military Affairs.

On February 14, 1985 Bud married his kindred spirit, Karen Beck. They spent 31 amazing years together. They had 2 daughters that were born with their angel wings.

Bud was preceded in death by his mother and father, father-in-law Orvin Beck, brother-in-law Jan Beck, infant daughters Callie and Tristyn and Squirt.

Bud is survived by his wife Karen; his children and their spouses Lloyd and Teresa, Bozeman, Jason and Pam, Twin Falls, Darby, Belgrade, Doug and Reagen, Vancouver; mother-in-law, Yvonne Beck, Helena; grandchildren Joshua, Aneasha, Kassianna, Gracie, Colton, Megyn, Birdie and Sophia; great grandson Logan; sister and brother-in-law Laurie and Tom Snow; sister Kay and brother and sister-in-law Keith and Sally all of Spokane; sister and brother-in-law June and Don McConahy,  Helena; sisters and brothers-in-law Vivienne Herron Helena, Myron and Marion Beck, Lodi CA, Janet & Dick Nelson, Horseshoe Bay TX; numerous nieces and nephews and “his brother from another mother” Denny Eickert of Montana City.

He was known as “Uncle Bud” to everyone he met and his son Doug summed him up perfectly, “To know him was to love him. He loved hard and laughed harder! Or maybe it was the other way around. He had a charisma that made him a stranger to no one. His heart was so overwhelmingly huge it embraced everyone he came in touch with.”

Bud was a huge Green Bay Packer fan and shareholder. “GO PACK GO”. It would please him if everyone would dress casually and wear their team colors to his memorial service which will be June 2nd at 1:00 at the Veterans Cemetery at Fort Harrison. There will be a reception at the National Guard Service Club following the interment of his ashes.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the charity of your choosing.

The family would like to say a special thanks to Dr. Weiner and the staff at the St. Peter’s Cancer Center for the outstanding care and compassion Bud received in his final years. To Mike and Kathy Buckley and Don and Patti Blixt for making sure Bud was able to go fishing these last few months and Cassie Buckley for sharing Dex the wonder dog.

Please visit below to offer a condolence to the family or to share a memory of Bud.
