A.M. “Arnie” Wise died January 14th in Townsend, MT after a year-long struggle with Alzheimer’s. Arnie was born in Belgrade, MT on October 3, 1926.
During his 92 years Arnie was a loving husband and dad, avid fisher, hiker, bowler, cross country skier and a generous friend. For most of his work life, Arnie was employed as a railroad agent for the Northern Pacific and later BNSF in Belgrade and Bozeman. He was a union man and a Democrat in a community where that was a rare commodity. As a result, morning coffee was always a time for lively conversation. He did have a few other edges including a quiet disdain for Dallas Cowboy fans and for anyone claimed they had “done” Glacier Park after driving the highway over Logan Pass.
Arnie is survived by his wife, Barbara, daughter, Pat, and three generations of nieces and nephews. A celebration of life will be held 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 22, 2019, at Headwaters State Park, outside of Three Forks, Montana. A luncheon will be follow at the park. Burial will be held at a later date at the Fairview Cemetery in Three Forks, Montana. Please visit below to offer the family a condolence or to share a memory of Arnie.

Patti, I’m so sorry. What a wonderful man your father was. I still remember our hike through Glacier Park with your Mom and Dad, what a wonderful time. Your Dad, as well as your Mom always made me feel like I was part of your family. My condolences to you and
