Ben was a big part of my life growing up.
He taught me how to water ski. Our family spent many memorable times on the lake fishing and just having fun.
At an early age I admired Ben’s talented mechanical abilities.
Ben was my inspiration in becoming a mechanic.
Ben was a humble man and a mentor.
We will miss him but will carry those great memories with us.
Our thoughts and prayers are with Dolly and the McMaster family

Ben and Vita were great friends of our folks and were special people to Darrell and I. We were little when they took us fishing on Canyon Ferry in the Vita Marie (boat). That was the first of many fun and funny times at Canyon Ferry and Hauser. Our Dad and Ben built up a “float boat”. It was a pontoon boat that would only go trolling speed. We fished while they all drank a lot of beer and laughed a lot too. We spent a lot of time at their house too, and when we got almost old enough Vita would sneak us some Annie Green Springs.
Ben helped us harvest for several seasons on the farm, and he was the best guy to have around. Of course he could fix anything, but he was easy on the equipment, and worked as many hours as we would. He was one of the few guys that could work right beside our Dad, all day long, and was still cheerful after a long hard day of harvest.
I think about them a lot, because they were just such great people.
