Bertha LaPier (nee Stone), a resident of Madison Heights, MI, passed away on March 27, 2022 at the age of 83. A daughter of Arthur and Kamellia Stone, she was born on June 6, 1938 in Big Sandy, Montana. Bertha worked at The Sewing Center, Rocky Mountain Development Council and along with her husband Frank LaPier Sr owned and operated Red & White Taxi. She worked various other jobs throughout her life.
Everyone who met Bertha loved her. Her personality was genuine, and Bertha’s love for life left a glow about her. Bertha put all others before herself especially her children. She made sure that each child found happiness and success in all of their endeavors. As she raised her children, Bertha loved playing rummy and board games. Strong in her faith, Bertha loved the Lord. She was caring, honest, fiercely independent, and blessed with a good sense of humor. She loved sewing, gardening, collecting and reading novels. Bertha will be missed dearly by her family and friends.
Loving mother of Marshall, Donald, Georgia Elhana, and Loraine (Dave) Schirmer, and Norma. Cherished grandmother of Frank (Anja), Jeff, Dustin (Alyssa), and Sarah (Jerah) Ward. Treasured great-grandmother of Keagan, Xoe, Elias, Maeci, and Logen. Dear sister of Doris, Arthur, and Alice. Loving Auntie to many nieces and nephews and cousin of Gracie (Al) Buchanan. Preceded in death by former spouse, Frank LaPier Sr.
