Betty Lee Afdahl was born 10/28/1938 In Goldsboro NC to IB Bradshaw and Sarah Pope and grew up with her brother David Bradshaw and sister Patrica Gross.
She became a professional mobile portrait photographer traveling along the East Coast after high school when she met her future husband, Norman Afdahl. They married 12/19/1959 and had 4 children.
She settled into military life, traveling the US with her growing family until they came back to Montana.
She trained to be a licensed nurse in Helena Graduating in 1972. This became her career for 18 years. She was a ranch boss for 7 years on the Crazy Ranch.
After her divorce in 1997 she became a “property manager” for her son Gene at his property in Helena from 2003 on and ran him as well.
She was loved for her sassy spirit, strong will and joyful heart.
She enjoyed taking care of her home, flowers, and animals.
She loved her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren and was cherished by them right back.
She is survived by her sister Pat Gross (Gary), her children Vicki Sheppard (Ken), Gene Afdahl, Kathy Crawford-Thompson (Mevin), Bill Afdahl (Adrianna), as well as 7 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.
