Betty D. (Goettlich) Bonnes 92, of Helena, Montana, passed away peacefully on February 11, 2017.
Betty was born to Ernest and Stella Goettlich on April 5, 1924 in Helena, Montana where Betty grew up and spent her entire 92 years. She graduated from Helena High School in 1942 and then married George W. Bonnes on August 22, 1942. George and Betty were married for 68 years and had three children; Roger, Linda and Richard. Along with raising their children, Betty worked for Mountain Bell, leaving there to help George with their family business, Bonnes Electric. Later on Betty went to work at Safeway as a bookkeeper where she worked for many years. Illness caused Betty to retire early. She went on caring for her family and enjoying her many grandchildren. Betty had many hobbies which included sewing, painting, and enjoying her flowers. She enjoyed her friends at Sunday morning breakfast club, Garden Club and Class of ‘42, getting together with classmates and organizing class reunions. Betty loved her many pets, most recently Petey.
Betty moved to Rocky Care Center in 2013 where she was residing at the time of her death. She loved all the staff who cared for her there.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents; husband, George; son, Roger; brother, Ernest. Betty is survived by daughter, Linda Mitchell of Gilbert, Arizona; son, Richard (Jeannie) Bonnes of Hamilton, Montana; daughter in-law, Patti Bonnes of Helena, Montana; 8 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren.
Many thanks to Betty’s extended family at Rocky Mountain Care Center and Compassus Hospice. Please see below to send the family a condolence or to share a memory of Betty.

Mike Bonnes says
Grandma Betty-
You were a pistol! The countless memories we have of you will never fade. You were a beautiful woman that showed the many who knew you what it meant to live life to the fullest.
You have blessed us all with your love, compassion, understanding, and most importantly, humor. Although we grieve your loss here on earth, we know that you are where you are supposed to be. Floating with the grace of all the other angels, all the while keeping our beloved grandfather George in line! Although you haave left us for now, i think we will all hear you yell “George!” From time to time.
We all know it is a just matter of time until we are all together again. Until then, my sweet Grandma B., know that we love you, miss you, and cherish the time we cherished with you.
With a heavy heart and a thousand smiles-
Mikey

Our thoughts and prayers are with the Bonnes family and their friends in the loss of Grandma Betty. She was a very lovely kind lady I had the good fortune of meeting back in 2010. Deepest condolences and sympathies to all of you.

I knew Betty from the retail store where I worked. She was always a bright spot when she came in to shop.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the Bonnes Family. Our Mother Glenna loved both Betty & George. They spent much time sharing stories at the breakfast club.
