Beverly A. Miller, Age 83 of Helena

We sadly said our final goodbyes to our Mom and Grams, Beverly “Bev” Amanda Miller, during the early morning hours of February 24, 2022 in Helena Montana. She passed away of natural causes in the arms of her loving daughter Elizabeth. She was 83 years old.

Bev was born on November 15, 1938 to Julia Bolz in St. Cloud Minnesota. Following her mother’s marriage to Frank Baker, she and her family relocated to Anaconda Montana. It was in Anaconda that she spent her childhood years including attending both Bryant and Washington Elementary schools. Later the family moved to Elkhorn where she lived until 1954 when she relocated back to Anaconda and resided with her lifelong best friend turned sister, Bev Yelsa and her family. She faced many challenges during her lifetime, but in true Bev fashion, she always proved her ability to survive despite her often-difficult circumstances.

Bev spent many years working at the Cooney Convalescent Home and then at the Masonic Home of Montana in Helena fulfilling roles as a nursing assistant and then in laundry. She enjoyed reading anything from the newspaper to novels. She also had a love of nature regularly feeding the birds and squirrels at her home and admiring the flowers that she grew. Bev loved making chocolate chip cookies, and they were famous among her grandchildren.

She was the mother of three children and grandmother to six grandchildren. Survivors include her children Katherine (Anthony) Stremcha, Robert (Havona) Miller, Elizabeth Miller as well as her grandchildren James (Kaylene) Hankinson III; Michael Miller, Nona Miller; Trey Miller, Tino Miller and Maddisynn Miller. Additional surviving family includes her sisters Jeannette Smith and Irene Smith, brothers Jim (Jinny) Baker and Chuck Baker. Bev was proceeded in death by her mother Julia Jackson and her brother Steve Baker.
