Beverly Ann Carlin, Age 92, of Helena, Montana, passed away on Saturday, May 30, 2015 at St. Peter’s Hospital in Helena. She was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota, on August 19, 1922. Beverly graduated in May of 1939 from Central High School in St. Paul, Minnesota. Mother was married to Thomas D. Carlin, Sr. for 55 years until his passing on May 10, 1998.
Beverly was preceded in death by her parents; Arthur Walter Schuneman and Maebelle Perusse, and her husband Thomas D. Carlin, Sr., her sister Marjorie Dragich, and her Aunt Madeline Perusse. A loving sister, wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother; Beverly will forever be loved and missed by all those whose heart she touched. Mother was known as a feisty Irish Woman who truly was the matriarchy of the Carlin Clan.
Left behind to cherish her memory are her sons: Thomas Donnelly (Marilyn) Carlin from Clancy, Montana, James Irish Carlin from Helena, Montana and Patrick Stephen (Sylvia) Carlin from Mercedes, Texas; grandchildren are Christopher Thomas Carlin from Livingston, Montana, Dr. Nicholas Thomas (Ann Marie) Carlin from Bay Point, California, and Anna Alicia Carlin from Virginia Beach, Virginia; great-grandchild Aiden Christopher Carlin from Torrington, Wyoming.
Upon moving to Helena, Montana in 1976, Beverly worked seventeen years with the Montana state department of workmen’s compensation. It was exceedingly difficult for her to retire from her Montana State employment, and her many friends and fellow workers, particularly her supervisor, Mr. William Palmer. After retirement, she dedicated her time to volunteer work and the care of her husband, Tom. Beverly was perceived as very social, capable and competent; consequently, after her retirement, she enjoyed the many years of volunteer work at the Helena Area Chamber of Commerce Visitors Bureau and at the gift shop at St. Peter’s Hospital. Family and the world of work were the priorities Beverly lived by all of her many years.
The Family wishes to express our gratitude to the extended staff at Hunters Pointe and the Cooney Convalescent Home. The staff at both facilities treated Beverly with dignity and respect over the past seven years. The administrators, physicians, nurses, specialists, CNAs, and housekeepers all took excellent care of our mother. The family will be forever grateful. A special thank you is extended to Dr. Mest for meeting with the family and developing a plan for comfort care and Hospice of St. Peter’s, which was implemented during our mother’s final days.

My heartfelt prayers and thoughts are with you during this difficult time. I worked with Bev up until her retirement, and saw her occasionally after that. She was a warm caring person, and enjoyed knowing her. Memories of your Mom will help you through this time. Take care.

I knew Bev through the Chamber Visitor Center where we were both volunteers for many years. She was one of the best advocates for the Chamber and community, insisting that visitors take-in all Helena has to offer: From Tour Train, Gates of Mtns, Capitol, Last Chance Gulch to Hikes in the Hills. Beverley knew them all. When anyone said they did not have enuf time to do all of this, she would simply say…stay another day, or 2…and would not take NO as an answer. Bev was missed when she left the Center and will be missed as she leaves us now.
