February 4, 1947 – February 7, 2014

Beverly “Bev” Moore, 67, of Helena, passed away on February 7, 2014.

Bev was born in Acushnet, Massachusetts to Hubert and Marjorie Kidd.  She was raised in New Bedford, Massachusetts.   Her family eventually settled in Streator, Illinois where she graduated from Streator High School, in 1964.  While in living Streator, Bev met future husband, Robert Moore.  They were married March 11, 1968.  They had three children, David, Jeffrey, and Alicia before moving to Montana in 1973.

Bev became a Licensed Practical Nurse in 1978.  She worked 30 years as an LPN at St. Peters Hospital and Fort Harrison Veterans Hospital.

Bev was an excellent bowler, twice setting house records for high scratch games, placing high in several scratch women’s scratch tournaments, and was a member of the Division A Women’s State Champion Team in 1986.  She was a certified bowling coach and served in various offices for local and state bowling organizations.  In 2004, she was inducted into the Women’s Bowling Association Hall of Fame.  When she wasn’t bowling, Bev enjoyed researching her family’s genealogy and playing card games.

Bev is survived by her husband, Robert, her children, David Moore of Omaha, Neb., Jeff Moore (Lalena Jackson) of Missoula, and Alicia(Adam) Frese of Tuolumne, Calif.;  her grandchildren, Jon and Tawny Moore, and Jacob, Amanda, and Natalie Frese; her mother, Marjorie Kidd, and her brother, Donald (Sue)Kidd of Johnson City, New York and nieces Sarah and Rebekah Kidd  and several other nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her sister, Helen Kidd, and her father, Hubert Kidd.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Sleeping Giant Lanes on February 14 from 1:00 to 4:00pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of St. Peters, 2475 Broadway, Helena, Montana 59601.

Bob, David, Jeff, and Alicia I would like to say Bev is in my thoughts and prayers. she not only could take a joke but she could hand them out left n right. I remember when I had a double hernia operation she came into my room as I was coming out of the anesthesia. she started to make me laugh and I wanted to kick her in the b*** cuz it hurt so bad! I love that woman and I will greatly miss her.

Bev was a wonderful woman. She was so supportive of me as a new bowler in Helena and even after I left Helena, would come to watch me and visit when I was in town for a tournament. I will miss her dry humor. My thoughts are with you all.

What I remember most about Aunt Bev was her great sense of humor, and her attention to detail. I regret that Merton and our daughter, Rebecca, never got to meet her. My thoughts and prayers are with Bob, the kids and all who loved her.

I worked with Bev on the surgical floor at St. Peter’s Hospital when I was a nursing student at Carroll College back in the early 1980’s. Bev was so much fun to work with and always made me laugh. Her patients loved her too–she was kind and caring but also a tremendous amount of fun. My thoughts go out to her family, she was a wonderful person.
