On February 27th 2025, Brenda Marlene (Wright) Gibson passed away in the comfort of her home in Helena, Montana as a result of pulmonary issues, at the age of 79.
Brenda was born at home in Watson, Louisiana on October 20, 1945 to Bernice L. (Wascom) Wright and Donavon F. Wright as the youngest of four children.
She grew up in Watson, but spent her late teen years traveling the country with family for her father’s job as an iron worker including time spent as a ‘missile kid’ due to his work on US Air Force bases on the construction of the ICBM systems in Great Falls, Montana and Mountain Home, Idaho.
She met her first husband William E. Patrick of Helena, Montana where they eventually settled in Clancy to raise their three children while she worked at Blue Cross Blue Shield in Helena. When their marriage ended, Brenda returned to the comfort of her family in Watson.
It is there she met and married the love of her life, Jerald W. Gibson. She continued to work for Blue Cross Blue Shield in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, until her retirement in 2009. During their 38 years of marriage, they greatly enjoyed camping, traveling to all lower 48 states.
After the passing of her husband in October, 2022, she returned to Helena to be near her children.
Brenda is preceded in death by her husband Jerry, her sister Shirley Diane Street, and both her parents.
She is survived by her oldest sister, Maythel Young of Louisiana; brother Donald Wright of Louisiana; her son Kevin Patrick (USCG, Retired) of Helena; daughter Kellie Patrick and grandsons Sean, William “Ryan”, and Seth of Helena; son Keith Patrick of Helena, and grandson Keith, Jr of Louisiana, granddaughters Rene and Christy of Louisiana as well as several great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews and their children.
