Bret Max Watts, 66, born on August 26, 1958, in Miami, FL, passed away peacefully at his home in East Helena on June 16, 2025, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Bret is survived by his loving wife, Sherri Watts; mother-in-law, Dorothy Spurlock of Helena MT; brothers-in-law, Barney Spurlock of Townsend, MT, and Kevin (Staci) Spurlock of Helena; sisters-in-law Krista (Guy) Williams and Brenda Walker of Helena; and his son, Bill Watts. Bret spent his career as a heavy equipment operator. Working with the Black’s, owning his own business and then at Helena Sands and Gravel where he retired from in March 2023.
He loved to make memories with his friends and families. His hobbies and interests included mining, riding the razor through the mountains, camping with friends, snowmobiling, riding his Harley next to his wife Sherri and friends.
Bret was preceded in death by his father, Max Watts; mother, Donna (Downs) Watts; brother, Joe Watts; sister, Beth Watts; and stepsons, Tucker and Tyser Wiseman.
Friends are invited to a short ceremony and the placement of Bret’s cremated remains in the Columbarium Niche at Forestvale Cemetery 10:15 a.m. Saturday, June 28, 2025. Sheri, Bret had such a gentle soul…… I will always remember the kindness in his beautiful eyes whenever he smiled at me. He was always happy to see me at his folks home visiting with his family. Max and I worked together at Grimes motors for many years (always playing tricks on me) His mom Donna was so sweet. Bret , what a great loss to you and all who knew him. I look forward to seeing that beautiful smile he always had again ! I Love you Sheri, thanks for loving Bret….
