Carlton was born October 15, 1953 in Billings, Montana to David Holt Larson and Martha Ann (Mickelson) Larson. He was employed as a Western Region Desktop Services Manager with ACS in Helena, MT at the time of his death. He married Kathleen Lee (Horejs) Larson on September 7, 1996 in Billings, Montana.

Carlton was a wildlife photographer, an accomplished artist and craftsman. He loved fishing, his dogs (Swede and Leif) and his family. Carlton loved to tell humorous stories to make people laugh and feel at ease. He was a good friend and a good man. He also was a long time member of AA.

Carlton was preceded in death by his mother, Martha Ann (Mickelson) Larson. He is survived by his father, David Holt Larson of Great Falls, MT; his wife, Kathleen L. Larson of Clancy, MT; a brother, Craig Larson of Wolf Point, MT; sisters, Cynthia Davenport of Deer Lodge, MT and Carolyn Gilbertson of Prairie Du Sac, Wisconsin; nieces, Marie, Jessica, and Annie; and nephews, Jake, James, Derek, Davis and Eric.

We would like to express our gratitude to his co-workers at ACS and Kathleen’s co-workers at Elkhorn Health and Rehab in Clancy.

Carlton was one of the guys who really reached out to welcome me to my new position at Culvers. We used to share baseball tales, look at his pictures of eagles he took by the Sauk River, and he always had a joke to tell. He was a real good guy and will be missed. My condolences.

Kathleen I am sorry about your loss. I recently left ACS, however Carlton was my boss while I was there. One of the best I’ve ever had. I just wanted you to know he loved talking about you. He and I had several one-on-one conversations during my time there and he always had a story to tell about you. He will definitely be missed!

My brother, Terrell Tuten, forwarded an e-mail that he received from Cynthia Davenport over the weekend. When you decided to move to the Helena area, Terrell gave Carlton my contact information for assistance in finding a home etc. I communicated briefly through e-mail and met Carlton a few times in the office. My brother spoke very highly of him and enjoyed talking sports. It was a true pleasure to have had the opportunity to meet Carton.
To Kathleen and family, my heart felt condolences to you.

I have spent the last two years living next door to Carlton and Kathleen. You simply couldn’t ask for better neighbors. Carlton always had a funny story to tell, or an amazing picture to show me. There are not enough words to describe how talented he was with his cameras. But what I will miss the most is his friendly wave at me every single day on my way into the driveway after work. It was a pleasure getting to know him for the last couple of years.

My sincere condolences to Kathleen and the rest of the family.

Pastor Larson, Craig, Cynthia and Carolyn – my thoughts and prayers are with you and I hope your wonderful memories of Carlton help you through your loss.

I have such wonderful memories of all of you from church in Wolf Point and band with Carlton and Craig. I ran into Carlton last November at the ArtWalk in Helena and recognized him right away. It was wonderful to catch up briefly on what our families were doing. His photography was spectacular and it was such a treat to see! Take care

Your family has been in my thoughts and prayers this week. I am sorry you are going through such difficult and sad time. Please greet Pastor Larson for me. Mom (Gert Mahlum) thought SO much of her friendship with Pastor and Martha. She spoke of them often. God’s blessings to your family.

This man I had the honor of calling my uncle. I never really got to see him until these last couple years when he moved to the Helena area. He lived with us until he could sell his house back in Madison. During that time he and I got really close. He attended my football games, taking phenomenal pictures at them. He had a great sense of humor that I really enjoyed. His love for dogs I really liked. His dogs were like his children, he treated them with the uttermost respect and they have ended up to be great dogs. A very nice memory I have of him is when he got back from Wisconsin with his wife Kathleen. He brought me back, as he promised, a cheese head, at which the spectators at Packer games wear. His pictures are great, each one leaves me speechless. I’m glad I had to opportunity to see him one last time at Thanksgiving. I want to give condolences to his wife Kathleen. She’s a great person and I get the honor of calling her my aunt. RIP Carlton
