Carole Dianne Kiley was born in Moses Lake, Washington, at Larson Air Force Base. The middle child of five children, Carole was always striving to stand out. Carole became a Women’s Army Corps (WAC) when she joined the US Army in 1977. After being Honorably discharged in 1981, she went back to Germany to accompany her husband Michael Sandifer. They divorced in 1982 and Carole moved to Las Vegas, Nevada, to reside with her paternal grandmother, Evelyn Young. Carole was always trying to make her life better. She had jobs requiring government clearances and to the day she died, she never divulged government secrets. Carole became a disabled veteran in 2012 and was medically retired by the Department of Veterans Affairs. Carole moved to Helena, Montana in 2012 and was proud to say she was from Montana. She was appointed as the Voice of the Veteran for Women by the hospital director. In her tenure, she helped many women Veterans acquire their disability benefits. Carole had no children, except her dogs, Honey Bee and Ladybug, although she had been Nana and Aunt Carole to many children. Carole is survived by her cousin-in-law, Leann Denman of Las Vegas, Nevada and Harlo Rose, Leann’s beautiful dog. No services will be held, as Carole requested. Donations can be made to the American Heart Association in her name.
