Casmer J. Misowic passed away at home on April 21, 2011 and joined his beloved wife, Helen. “Cas” was born on November 28, 1916 in Chicago, Illinois. He was always proud of his growing up in Chicago and many times told friends and family that was where he was born.
Cas moved to Montana after WWII to the Basin area and later moved to East Helena, where he worked at the smelter. He met the love of his life, Helen Bozdech and they wed December 27, 1952 in Butte. Cas’s greatest source of pride and achievements was building his home in East Helena. Cas built most of the home by himself through a lot of hard work and self-education.
Cas was preceded in death by his wife, Helen; sister, Mildred Bailey; and brothers, Louie and Chester (Wimpy) Nordstrom.
He is survived by his son, Michael and his wife, Bonnie; sister, Laura Gilmore and her husband, Maynard; sister, Greta Achey and her husband, Harold; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank all of the wonderful people at the Fort Harrison V.A., Hospice of St. Peter’s Hospital, and the many friends of the family that made Cas’s final years comfortable. We would like to thank Roger Knapstad and the Robert O’Leary family for their help and support.
A funeral Mass will be held at noon Tuesday, April 26, 2011 at Sts. Cyril Methodius Catholic Church. A burial service will follow at St. Ann’s Cemetery in East Helena. Lunch will be served at Sts. Cyril Methodius Catholic Church immediately following the burial service.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the Lewis & Clark Humane Society, P.O. Box 4455, Helena, MT 59604. Condolences may be sent to the family by visiting: www.aswfuneralhome.com.

Sending my thoughts and prayers to all of the family. I remember fondly my last visit several years ago with Uncle Cas. Aunt Greta and Uncle Harold were there too. We looked through photo albums and shared some special memories of our family. My deepest sympathy.
