Charles “Charlie” Raymond Dickert passed away comfortably in his sleep Tuesday February 13th 2024 in the early morning hours at Beehive Homes of Helena. He had just celebrated his 85th birthday. Charlie was truly an amazing man full of character, joy for life, and love for his friends and family. He is truly unforgettable.
Charlie Dickert was born February 1st 1939, in Helena, MT to Ted and Ilene Dickert. This is where he grew up and graduated Helena high school in 1957. After high school, he worked a short period of time with the Highway department before going on to college at MSU in Bozman, MT where he graduated with his bachelor’s degree in 1968. After his return to Helena, he soon became the superintendent for the City of Helena Water Department. He would retire from that position with a loyal 30 years of service to the city. He wasn’t only a loyal worker he was a loyal Husband, Brother, Son, Father and friend to many.
Charlie Married the love of his life Diana Dickert on September 1st, 1978, in Helena, MT. A short two years later they had their only son, Jared, and they would start a family. He was a supportive husband standing beside Diana in everything she wanted to do. They both shared the love of a good trip together whether it be as simple as taking his wife to dinner or attending an event for his son. One of their favorite road trips together was going to Salt Lake City, UT to see his brother Richard and Lynda and their family. They enjoyed many road trips together to places like Yellowstone National Park, Alberta Canda and Portland, OR.
His adventurous side stemmed into many activities such as skiing, snowmobiling, dirt bike and four-wheeler riding, hiking, riding his motorcycle, and his love for Corvettes. He owned two of them and was very proud of both. He was also always on the go. If he wasn’t doing one of those activities, you could find him in the garage working on his big boy toys or organizing his tools. Charlie was very mechanical. He enjoyed working on vehicles and could work on just about anything with an engine.
After retirement he had a lot of spare time on his hands but had to keep moving. Charlie had many groups of friends that he would meet up with. He had joined a Corvette Club. He was in a Motorcycle club called the Last Chance Riders Motorcycle Club. He went four-wheeling with a group of friends that called themselves Retired Rough Riders. He would also continue to meet up with a group of friends every weekend morning for breakfast.
Unfortunately, in the last few years of his life, he had trouble with his memory and lost the ability to do many of his favorite activities on his own anymore. He moved into Beehive homes memory care facility where he received excellent care and the attention he needed. He still wasn’t done being a busy body though. He was always involved with the activities and happenings going on around his new home. He also got frequent visits from his friends that would take him out to lunch or for a beer. His son and daughter-in law would come and pick him up for many outings and take him on a drive around the state even took a few overnight trips out of town.
Charlie is preceded in death by his wife Diana Dickert, and his parents Ted and Ilene Dickert
Charlie is survived by his son Jared (Delsey) Dickert of Helena, Mt
His Brother Richard (Lynda) Dickert of Salt Lake City, UT

I used to ride with Charlie and the group Thursdays. We all used 4 wheelers, Charlie rode rings around us on his dirt bike. We took aircraft engines from my Dad Bill Korizek at the airport. Before he started the Votech
Henry Hibbard got the money.
Charlie was quiet, unassuming, and smart person. He must have been great to work for at the City.
I can still hear his bike in the Mountains. It as quiet but Charlie’s quiet MANOR is still very LOUD

Jared and Delsey : I just heard of Charlie’s passing today from A friend. I am sad to hear. I’m so sorry for your loss.
He was a soft-spoken man, gentle person. Every time I drove by his house I thought of my good friend, Diana, and thought about stopping by to see Charlie.
He’s with his beloved wife now.
