Charles F. Krus “Chuck”, age 78, of East Helena, passed away at the VA Hospital on February 28, 2014. He was born on May 27, 1935 to Charles P. Krus Jr. and Florence L. Krus in Chicago, IL.
Chuck was a veteran of the Korean conflict and was honorably discharged from the US Marines. He was an engineer, a part time pilot, and finally a gunsmith and gun shop owner. He also invested and participated in several small business ventures.
Chuck loved the outdoors, especially the Rocky Mountains, where he fished, camped, hiked and hunted. He also enjoyed flying small airplanes and attending the Oshkosh Fly-In Air Convention. He built and flew model airplanes in his spare time. Chuck was a great story teller and loved spending time with friends.
He is survived by his son, Bill Krus of Longmont, CO; daughters, Denise Poston of Denver, CO and Melinda Krus of Longmont, CO; sister, Carol (Earl) Sand of Amboy, IL; grandchildren, Nicole and Steve Krus of Longmont, CO; great-grandchildren, Anna, Chelsea and Devin Jack of Longmont, CO. He is also survived by his nephews and nieces; Daryl, Kye, Jerrod Sand, Becky Hess and several great nieces and nephews all of IL.
