Charles Jeffrey Pocha “Jeff” passed away on September 2, 2011. He was born on December 3, 1959 to Leo Gene Pocha & Charlotte “Bobbie” Lawrence-Pocha-Asher in Helena, Montana.
He was married to Sheri Carlson-Pocha, who he met on a blind date set up by their good friend Sean Wines. After 20 years of marriage they remained close friends and proud parents.
Jeff attended Helena High School and later worked as a welder and machine operator for Hydrometrics and then became something he was always passionate about; a cook. Jeff traveled extensively. He found homes in Maine and Alaska. He enjoyed fly fishing, fishing, hunting, camping and snowmobiling. He loved the outdoors and was an avid sportsman & philanthropist. He was also a member of the Little Shell Tribe and Helena Indian Alliance. He was Chippewa -Cree Indian.
He is survived by his four children Amanda Pocha-Lias, Brittany Ditto-Pocha, Jess Pocha & Samuel Pocha his grandchildren include: Dillon, Kailee, Kevin, Konner & Aalyisha.
He is also survived by his mother Bobbie (Bill) Asher; brothers and sisters Bonnie Lee Destacio, Fay Ellen Prescott, Louis Pocha, Tom Pocha, Daniel Pocha, Eddie Richey, Kate Alt, and Chester Richey. He had many close friends over the years, including his lifelong companion Sharon “Shad” Barney, in addition to Roy and Loretta George, Laurie Ditto-Sticht, and many other loved ones. Everyone that had the opportunity to meet Jeff laughed and enjoyed life in his company. His acceptance of people from all walks of life made him a favorite of many.
He is was preceded in death by his father Leo, brothers Bill, Leo, and Allen Pocha along with his grandma & grandpa Albena & Bob Kroll.
Viewing hours will be from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday September 6th at Anderson Stevenson Wilke Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 7th at Anderson Stevenson Wilke Funeral Home.Cremation will follow the service.
