In Memory Of

Chloe F. Stapp, age 20 of Townsend

September 20, 2004 – February 23, 2025

Chloe Faith Stapp, 20, passed away on February 23, 2025, in Townsend, Montana. Born on September 20, 2004, in Covington, Georgia, she brought light and joy to all who knew her.

Chloe was a vibrant soul—a daughter, sister, aunt, granddaughter, cousin, and niece. She was beautiful inside and out, with a heart full of love and generosity. She touched the lives of many, leaving an indelible mark on everyone fortunate enough to know her.

She shared a special bond with her older sister, Carli. Despite their age difference, they were inseparable in spirit, always exchanging playful banter that filled their family’s hearts with laughter. Chloe had a unique ability to bring joy into any room with her humor and unfiltered honesty—never afraid to speak her mind and always unapologetically herself.

A deeply creative and artistic soul, Chloe had a talent for drawing, painting, and poetry. Writing was her outlet, and she poured her heart into countless poems with the dream of publishing her own poetry book. She also loved working with her hands, crafting beautiful pieces through woodworking and leatherwork for herself and those she loved.

Her greatest passion was cooking. She found immense joy in experimenting with new recipes and creating delicious meals for friends and family. As a cook at a local restaurant, she cherished both her work and the people she worked alongside. Every dish she made was infused with love and creativity—just like everything else she did in life.

Chloe’s free spirit thrived in nature. She found solace in mountain drives, hiking through the wilderness, photographing animals, and collecting rocks and crystals. Whether off-roading through rugged terrain or sitting by a bonfire surrounded by friends, she embraced every moment with an adventurous heart. She also had a deep love for astrology, journaling, ice skating, rollerblading, and researching homesteading practices to grow her own food.

Animals held a special place in Chloe’s heart—she had an uncanny ability to connect with even the most timid creatures. Her family often called her their “Snow White” because of the way animals seemed drawn to her gentle presence. One of her favorite places was Best Friends Animal Society, where she volunteered to care for the many animals there. Her beloved fur-baby Rebel was always by her side as a constant companion.

Chloe is survived by her loving parents, Lori and Mike Stapp; her sister and brother-in-love, Carli and Ricky Hill; her cherished nephews Maverick and Daxton; her niece Indie; and countless friends whose lives were forever changed by knowing her. She was preceded in death by her grandmothers Carole Parker and Margaret Wade and grandfathers Jim Parker and Jim Wade.

Her kind soul and free spirit brightened our world every single day. Though she is no longer physically with us, the love she shared and the memories she created will live on forever in our hearts.

Sweet Chloe girl. Carli, Ricky, Lori and your entire family I am so sorry for your loss. My heart aches for you all. I didn’t know Chloe as a young woman but I will never forget her sweet smile and sass as she raced around the front yard barefoot and carefree. I’m sure she was embraced and held tight by her loved ones in heaven. I am sending you all my love and very tight hugs.

I know abut Chloe through my friend Sara M. Not many people have held a place in her heart like that. She loved her completely and talked about her often to me. About your family and how amazing you all are. That’s all I need, to know that the world is a darker place without her. My Prayers go out to your family for your loss. Remember the light that she shined and the positive impact she had on so many.

I share the following words by Poet John O’Donohue, and I pray that all of you who knew and loved Chloe so much will find comfort in them:

And, when the work of grief is done,
The wound of loss will heal
    And you will have learned
    To wean your eyes
From that gap in the air
And be able to enter the hearth
In your soul where your loved one
    Has awaited your return
    All the time.
