Connie Sauer, 73, passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by family, after an almost 2-year battle with cancer.
Connie was born November 24th, 1948 in Jamestown, ND to Emogene (Stoppleworth) and James Jones. She spent the majority of her young years growing up in Jamestown, and married Philip Sauer on March 19th, 1965. Connie and Phil relocated to Montana in the early 70’s where they built their lives together and raised their children. Connie worked as a nurse’s aide, before securing a career with the State of Montana DPHHS from which she retired in 2008. She was a hard worker and full of determination in life. She ended her life and cancer fight with that same fire and determination.
Connie enjoyed traveling, cooking, reading, old rock and roll music, and hosting dinners and gatherings. She was well known for her kind generosity, her cooking and being the life of the party. She had a big heart, she was a true caretaker, and would never hesitate to help others in need. She touched many people’s lives and would often be referred to as a “second mom” by many.
Connie is preceded in death by her husband Phil; her mother and father; and her aunt and uncle Eleanor and Ervin who helped raise her.
She is survived by her 3 children, Lance, Ryan, and Karissa (Rick), grandchildren, Alyssa, Brandon, Zach, Connor, and Shelby; great- grandchildren; her sister Carole, and half-siblings, Julie, Lori, and Milton Jr. Other survivors that were dear to her include her niece Tina, nephew Michael, cousins she was close to, and many close friends.
The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Thursday, February 10th at Anderson Stevenson Wilke Funeral Home. A funeral service will take place at 2 p.m. on Friday, February 11th at the funeral home. Burial will follow the service at Forestvale Cemetery.

Sincere sympathy to Connie’s entire family. Her family was always her number one priority. I enjoyed working with her for many years. She was always a hard worker. I recall with fondness times we spent together outside of work. May good memories help you through this difficult time.

Connie always considered me as her sister. I felt the same closeness, with her. We spent many vacations, celebrations together. Memories I will never forget. We danced when the music was our style. Shared the same interests. Enjoyed every minute we could spend with each other. I wish it would never have had to end. Some day, we will be in heaven. We’ll pick up where we left off. I love you Connie. And you always knew that. I have all my life. Sending love and sympathy to Lance, Ryan, Karissa and your children. Life will never be the same 😘 God bless her loving heart 🙏

Connie was a big part of my life when we were growing up. All of us cousins would be together a lot when we were young. Connie spent a lot of time at my parents home in Fargo, my Mom took Connie under her wing, helped her along in life when she was a young girl. She was a lot of fun to be with when she’d come to visit. I’m glad you are at peace now and the pain is gone.

Lance, Ryan and Karissa,
I am so sorry for your loss. I worked with your mom for years. She was dedicated to DDS and we had many wonderful conversations. I think of her whenever I watch figure skating. I know she loved watching skating.
Wishing you comfort and hope.

Connie or rather Nonny as she was known to me, a nickname given to her by her grandson Connor, whom she had a very fond affection for, will be greatly missed!!! I had the pleasure of being her friend and housekeeper for nearly 16 years. I will miss her childhood stories, her chocolate pie, her apricot porkchops and glorified rice. She was like a second mother to me and life will not be the same without her in it. She was the kindest most giving woman and I have never met anyone else of her caliber and probably never will. The good Lord surely broke the mold when he created her, that’s for sure. Rest in peace my dear sweet friend, until we meet again, I love you more than words can convey!
