Curtis Leroy Kohl “Curt” passed away at the age of 61. He was the fifth child of six children, born to Floyd and Doris Kohl on February 6th, 1963, and passed away on February 12, 2024. He was born and raised in Helena, Mt where he raised his children and found his love for cars, motorcycles, and his dog Tara.
Curt’s love of cars started with him and his father building pine wood derby cars for Cub Scouts and continued through his whole life. His children would say that he loved his cars and motorcycles more then anyone or anything outside of Tara his beloved dog. He was a quiet man until you got him talking about cars or motorcycles. Curt loved the mountains and spending time on anything with a motor, from lawn mowers to drag cars. He enjoyed spending time with his family and close friends, but not too much time. Curt did things his way and on his own time. He fully believed that “he who dies with the most toys wins.”
Curt is preceded in death by his parents Floyd and Doris, brothers Ronald Kohl, Kenneth Kohl, Richard Kohl, and David Kohl.
Curt is survived by his children Josh Kohl (Courtney), Derick Kohl (Brittany), Melissa Gonzales (Joseph), their mother Anita Kohl, sister Kristi Overstreet (Tony), and his beloved dog and best friend Tara. He is also survived by his count, 12 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.
A celebration of Curt’s life will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 17, 2024 at the Moose Lodge, 4750 N Montana Ave.

Met him many years ago and very rarely give a voice towards an individual that has passed but this guy deserves much! He always greeted me with a smile, great dignity and compassion with appreciation for life! Always wore a smile with sincerity and gave time to share emotions of a true caring individual! He was a true creater through his dreams and love of hot rods, God Speed and RIP ol buddy, you left your footprint well!

Our Prayers are there for Curt’s family….. So sorry he had to leave so soon. I know Danny and I will miss his calls. Danny was always telling friends and family here about Curt’s cars for sale. And of course showing them pictures of them. We were excited to see his cars and Eric’s at the car show on 4th of July 2022. And also was able to meet some of Curt’s family. Our thoughts are there for you all.
