On July 14, 2016 in the early morning an angel came and took my Mom, Virginia Swain with her to Heaven. She was 88 years old. She was born on March 26, 1928 in Butte, Montana She grew up in Butte and attended schools and graduated from Butte High School. My mother and father met at a dance in the forties after WWII. They married and were together for over 50 years.
Virginia is survived by son’s Ken (Cindy) Swain, Ed (Debbie) Swain, grandchildren, Margaret, Hallie, Joseph, Kenji, Jessie and Bill. She is preceded in death by her husband, Fred Swain, brother, Ben F. Hardin and son, Robert M. Swain.
Mother was a great cook. She loved to bake things like Red Velvet cake and her chocolate chip cookies will be greatly missed.
My mom was a lifelong member of St. John’s Lutheran Church. She sang in the choir for forty plus years. St. John’s Lutheran was like a second home for my mom. She met many of her lifelong friends there.
A memorial service celebrating her life is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. Friday, July 22, 2016 at St. John’s Lutheran Church 1000 Helena Avenue. A reception will follow in the fellowship hall of the church. May Peace Be With Her, Love You Mom!

Sorry to here about your loss. Ginny is in a way better place now and if there is a Kitchen in Heaven , she is in it and someone will be getting Red Velvet Cake. Kathy always made me a Red Velvet cake for my B-day from your moms recipe. After she passed my Daughter in law Laura took up the recipe. Kinda cool how things from Ginny keep going on and on.

Ken, Ed and family,
I am so sorry about the loss of your Mom. I have known Virginia my entire life and she was always a gracious woman. When we would see each other she would always stop and chat and catch up on how things in my life were going. I remember when my grandmother passed away and we had been at the funeral home completing arraignments, when we got back to grandma’s house, there was a crockpot sitting at the front door with a roast and potatoes and vegetables all cooked and ready for dinner!! That was Virginia for ya!
You are all in my thought and prayers.
