In loving memory of Damiean “Dae Dae” Terrio March 6th, 2010-June 30th, 2017
What was supposed to be an evening of fun in the sun with family and friends turned into a tragic accident that granted our precious Dae Dae his angel wings far too soon at age seven. He passed away at 9:39 pm on June 30th at St. Peter’s Hospital in Helena.
Damiean Xhavier Terrio, beloved son and brother was born in Helena, Mt to Adam and Kayla Terrio and his very excited big brother Carsyn after a very quick labor on March 6th, 2010 at 11:04 pm. He was 5 lbs, 13 ounces, and 19 inches long. From the day he was born, Damiean made his beautiful presence known yet he was a very calm, relaxed, and observant baby. From Dae Dae’s first seconds on earth down to his very last, he connected his big, beautiful blue and hazel eyes with everyone in the room and his smile could light up any amount of darkness.
From Dae Dae’s early years, he loved to watch Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Ben 10, and Handy Manny and then later on became obsessed with Pokémon. Damiean was an active WWE fan. He always came home from school on Monday and Tuesday evenings ready to watch Raw and Smackdown. His favorite superstars included John Cena, Roman Reigns, Dean Ambrose, and The New Day. His favorite movies have always been Iron Giant, How the Grinch Stole Christmas, and Road to Eldorado. At the age of five, alongside of his big brother Damiean became involved with video games but not like the typical five year old. Dae Dae played games to learn and explore not just to play. Gaming defined him. Outside of video games, Damiean loved Batman, legos, Nerf guns, going to the lake and going up into the mountains to shoot archery. Damiean also loved music. He found and expressed himself through lyrics of songs and you would always find him dancing hip hop. Damiean loved every genera of music except for country with the exception of Florida Georgia Line and The Lacs. Damiean’s favorite colors were red and green. Christmas was his favorite holiday but not for the presents, for the fact that he always got to see all of his family. He played t-ball and soccer at the local YMCA. He always looked forward to our summer tradition of taking a three day trip to Seattle, Wa. He referred to Seattle as his home and was always talking about how happy he was to be there. Damiean’s favorite spot in Seattle since he was a toddler has always been the Pier. The harbor tours were his favorite because we got to ride the big boats and he got to pretend that he was a pirate as well as see the seals. He also really enjoyed the Woodland Park Zoo.
Damiean attended daycare at Creative Horizons, Started preschool at Ray Bjork Learning Center for Headstart and finished his Pre-K years with his sister at 3 R’s Early Education Center. Damiean made an impact on a lot of staff and touched the hearts of many in his early years. He spent his kindergarten and first grade years at Warren Elementary where he not only made friends but the staff of Warren turned into his second family. Damiean disliked doing his homework, however he loved attending school and spending the day with his friends and his teachers. His favorite subjects were math and music. Damiean was apart of the after school and summer SACC programs and was part of the Cub Scout family in Pack 212 where he made many more friends from Eastgate Elementary and made such a sweet and loving impact on many scout leaders and family members of scouts. On June 6th, 2017, Damiean participated in the cross over bridging ceremony where he went from a Tiger scout to a Wolf, and had finally memorized the Scout Oath. His favorite parts of cub scouts were the popcorn sales and the pinewood derby car races. Damiean wanted to go to college to be a “YouTube Player”, a drummer, or a cop. He even said many times that he would do all three.
Damiean has honorably donated his corneas and his four heart valves and heart tissue to three, possibly four other children that were in immediate need of transplant surgery in Seattle, Wa. The parts that Damiean donated were the parts of him that people fell in love with most. His beautiful eyes that smiled when he smiled, and his huge, pure, and kind heart.
In Damiean’s short seven years, his love, determination, kindness, and compassion touched countless lives and brought more happiness to the lives and hearts of everyone that he met then some people do in their entire full grown lives. Even as an angel, he is continuing to save life’s, provide hope, and making everyone who got to meet him stronger then ever before. His words will always live on: “Whenever you’re sad, just smile”

“If ever there is tomorrow when we’re not together…there is something you must remember. You are braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think. But the most important thing is, even if we’re apart…I’ll always be with you.”

Even though we are miles apart my heart breaks for you, Damiean was such a handsome boy, I wish I had gotten to know him his smile was infectious. Kayla I can’t even imagine the pain you are going through just know that he is with PawPaw and I’m sure they are having such a great time getting to know each other. I’m sure Damiean is telling PawPaw about playing video games and Dad is telling him hunting stories. We have two Angels now. Please know that I send all my love and prayers to you. So many days I talked with my son Roman about his day at school. So many of his school adventures involved stories with Damiean. They were classmates and friends for Kindergarten and 1st grade. Damiean attended his birthday party and was such a sweet guy, but very hungry. He amazed me with how much pizza he could eat.
My prayers are with you in this time. Please know that you will all be reunited some day.
