David Blane Routzahn, age 90, of Helena, MT passed away on Tuesday, September 5, 2023.
David was born on May 31, 1933 in Helena, MT to parents James Routzahn and Emma “Rusty” Theresa Chenovic. After graduating from Helena High in 1951, David went on to MSU later graduating with a Bachelor’s degree in Financing. From 1953-1956, David served in the United States Army. Following his time in the military, David worked for the United States Federal Government in the western U.S., and in Montana, retiring after 30 years. He then went to work for himself as a Tax Accountant.
During his time with the Federal Government, David met Betty Pinchotto. They later married and have been inseparable ever since. Together they enjoyed boating, skiing, and camping. David was a long-time member of Toastmasters and the Elks. He served on the Flathead County Search & Rescue team, and always enjoyed a game of shuffleboard, Bocce ball, racket ball, or poker.
David was preceded in passing by his ex-wife, Juanita Hebb Routzahn; and parents, James and Emma “Rusty” Routzahn.
He is survived by his wife, Betty Routzahn; children, Debi (Jim) McGee, Kathy (Don) Routzahn, Kellie (Troy) Auck, Jim Routzahn, Richard (Bailey) Cooksey; grandchildren, Annie (Mike L.) Erickson, Chris (Ashley) Erickson, Mike Erickson, Jesse (Jaylene) Auck, Cody (Kenzie) Auck, Cheyenne (Julie) Auck, Ian (Val) Bone, Andy (Lindsey) Bone, Laina Routzahn, Sam Cooksey; great-grandchildren, Wyatt Erickson, Julian Bone, Nash Bone, Bode Auck, Kingston Auck, Hayes Auck; and numerous cousins that he was close to as well as many longtime friends.

David will be laid to rest with military honors at a private family gathering in Helena.
