David Charles Earl Dixon took his last call on Thursday July 17th, 2025 following a four-wheeler accident in Townsend, Montana – God needed some extra light in Heaven.
David was the Husband of Tabitha Dixon, they shared nine wonderful years of marriage and together created a life full of adventure for their sons, Brody (21), Cody (17) and Caull (8).
Born in Missoula, Montana on August 13th, 1978, David was the long-awaited son of Chuck and Karen Dixon and little brother to Krisha. As a child David could be found exploring the outdoors, playing a myriad of sports such as: football, baseball, wrestling, karate, bareback horse riding and keeping his parents on their toes at all times.
After graduating from Frenchtown High School in 1996, David followed in his father’s footsteps becoming an apprentice lineman with Mountain States Line Constructors, joining the IBEW-Local 44 out of Butte, Montana on November 1st, 1997. After a handful of years of hard work, travel and firsthand training, David became a Journeyman Lineman in 2004. He loved the meaningful work he did and those he served alongside. He worked as a Foreman for Rocky Mountain Contractors in Helena, Montana at the time of his passing.
Luckily for all of us, David touched so many lives and was known by many names. He loved many things and lived life fully – woodworking, hunting, fishing, music festivals, pool league, Bighorn Hockey, Mud Racing and the Montana Lineman’s Rodeo. As a strong union member, he served his brothers on the Executive Board, Exam Committee and as a Shop Steward for many years. The list really could go on and on and we are all so blessed to have had him in our lives for all of it.
He will be remembered for many many things, but mostly for being an incredible human being – a protector and light to us all. His love for his family was limitless and his absence leaves a hole in our hearts that can never be filled.
David is survived by his wife Tabitha Dixon. His children; Brody, Cody and Caull Dixon. His parents Chuck and Karen Dixon. His sister Krisha Loescher (Shea). His nieces and nephews; Jordan Dawson (Jeff), Raymi Ross, Kelsey Bechtold (Weston), Lucious Loescher, great niece Ezra Dawson and many extended family and loving friends.
He was predeceased by his grandfathers; Earl Baker and Monte Montieth. His grandmothers; Doretta Baker, Delores Baker and Annette Gobert. His uncle, Darrel Baker, his cousins, Nikko Rossi and Matthew Schaefer and his close friend Vince Bertaglio.
The celebration of life will be held on July 31st, 2025 – 2pm at the Boulder Fairgrounds – Barn located at 25-51 N Whitetail Rd, Boulder, MT 59632.
Let’s do this in true Dave fashion – no suits. Please bring a lawn chair and a cooler (with your preferred beverage) so we can share stories, laughter and a few tears.
Memorial donations in lieu of flowers can be made to the Montana Lineman’s Rodeo Association at 1205 Grizzly Gulch Drive Helena, Montana 59601.
