David “Dave” Edward Maser passed away at his home on June 4, 2023 of Natural Causes, Dave was 72 years of age. Dave was born in McKeesport, Pennsylvania to Frank A and Margery Maser on January 18, 1951, the oldest of four boys. As a young man Dave competed in several sports but really excelled at swimming which led him to Syracuse University where he earned a degree in Forestry.
Forestry then led Dave to the Peace Corp and to Guatemala where he met the love of his life Marta. Dave and Marta were married April 12, 1975 and remained devoted and by one another for 48 wonderful years.
Dave and Marta went on to raise two boys, Frank & Greg. Frank would marry his wife Joselyn and go on to have their wonderful son Tristin, While Greg would marry Cacey who had two boys Kolby and Keeven. All three grandchildren would become Dave’s pride and Joy.
Dave worked for the Forest Service as a Forester. Moving on from that to pursue his passion at the Montana Fire Training school. Dave would retire from his career with the DES Disaster Emergency Services. All his jobs fed his passion for helping others and serving in any way he could.
Dave truly enjoyed the outdoors, he enjoyed Shooting sports, hunting, archery, hiking and enjoying the gift of the outdoors that was so beautifully created by the Lord and any activity his Grandchildren are in. Dave had a strong faith and a great commitment to his Church and his Church family, Fellowship Baptist Church / Hannaford Street Bible Church. Mentoring many young adults with archery. No matter what the task was Dave would be right there to assist and greet you with his smile.
Dave is survived by his spouse, Marta Maser; Surviving Children – Frank D Maser (Spouse Joselyn Maser) Gregory E Maser ( Spouse Cacey Maser); Surviving Family – Brother Alan Maser, John Maser & Ray Maser, along with many other family members in NY, TX, and Guatemala; Surviving Grandchildren – Kolby Tamol, Keeven Tamol and Tristin Maser. He is preceded in death by his Parents Frank A and Margery Maser.
Dave will be missed by all those who knew and loved him.
A Memorial Service is scheduled for 9:30 a.m., Friday, June 30, 2023 at the Lewis & Clark County Fairgrounds Entry Hall with a reception to follow at approx. 11:00 am. at the Fairgrounds. In Lieu of Flowers – Memorials / Donations to West Valley Fire Department.
