Dell Alden Barfuss, age 91 of White Sulphur Springs

January 26, 1931 – February 17, 2022

Dell Alden Barfuss, 91, entered into eternal rest on February 17, 2022, at a memory care facility in Bozeman, MT with his two sons by his side.

He was born January 26, 1931, in River Heights, Utah, son of Leo H. and Erma M. Barfuss. He was raised in Logan, Utah.

Dell was a proud member of the United States Marine Corps and served during the Korean War. He married Sue Ann Smellie on August 15, 1959 in Las Vegas, NV. They were sealed in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints’ Logan Utah Temple on July 25, 1995.

Dell spent his entire professional career working for Pepsi Cola in Ogden, UT, and Coca Cola in Missoula, MT. In 1978, he and Sue moved to Montana. Dell spent many days in the outdoors, hunting and fishing with family and friends. He later moved to White Sulphur Springs, where he thoroughly enjoyed working for the Catlin Ranch.

Survivors include his two sons, Nick (Stephanie) Barfuss, Missoula, MT and Kirk (Janie) Barfuss, White Sulphur Springs, MT, his two sisters, Beth Blanchard, Logan, UT and Beverley Burkhart, Claremore, OK, his granddaughter, Amber Sue, his four grandsons, Kevin, Logan, Morgan, and Jordan Barfuss, two great-granddaughters, Madison and Charlotte Tracy and one great-grandson, Marshall Barfuss.

Dell was preceded in death by his wife, Sue Ann, his mother, Erma, father, Leo, two brothers, Leo Barfuss Jr. and Paul Barfuss, and two sisters, Shirley Tarbet and Joyce Murray.

Dell has joined the “love of his life”, Sue Ann, at Sunset Memorial Cemetery in Missoula, MT.

Burial with military honors took place on Tuesday, February 22nd at Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Missoula.

    Nick and kirk, I am so sorry to hear about uncle Dell. I have always thought so highly of him. He was such a kind, gentle man. My mom sure loved her older brother too! The thought of your dad and mom being reunited in heaven makes me smile ! Imagine what a wonderful reunion that was !!! I hope you are feeling peace at this time. You’re in my thoughts and prayers.
