In Memory Of

Diana L. “Auntie Di” Dickert, age 70, of Helena

February 4, 1947 – January 22, 2018

Diana Lou Dickert, or better known to many as Auntie Di, passed away January 22, 2018. She was an amazing daughter, sister, wife, mother and most importantly friend. She did so many things for so many people and meant so many things to so many people. She is truly unforgettable.

Auntie Di was born February 4th 1947 to Edward and Esther Morris, at St. John’s Hospital in Helena Mt. She was raised in Helena and graduated from Helena High in 1965. She enjoyed telling stories about her adventures living in Arizona, Louisiana and Great Falls. She then returned to Helena where she met her life partner Charles who she married on September 1st, 1978. Helena is where she lived out the rest of her life, but would never hesitate to travel and take adventures to meet up with old and new friends.

She enjoyed many things in life, music, fishing, games, puzzles, camping, and sewing. She was definitely a Montanan. She would often go fishing with her dad or husband and it wasn’t uncommon to find a fishing pole in her car. She also taught her son how to fish.

When she would talk about Jesus her eyes would light up. She not only loved Jesus but she loved like Jesus. Her passion was people. She was a collector of friends and she loved them all unconditionally. She was selfless in giving everything she had to offer whether it be a gift, her time or simply a word of wisdom. She had a laugh that would brighten your day and a sense of humor that everyone enjoyed. She would always drop everything to help a friend without expecting anything in return.

She was preceded in death by her parents Edward and Esther Morris.

Diana is survived by her husband, Charles Dickert of Helena MT; son, Jared (Delsey) Dickert of Wenatchee WA; sister Sharron Kirkness of Absarokee, MT; brother, Ronald (Terry) Morris of Helena, MT. and her many cousins, nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 25th at Anderson Stevenson Wilke Funeral Home, 3750 N. Montana Ave.  A memorial service celebrating Diana’s life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 26th at Helena First Assembly of God Church, 2210 Dodge Avenue.  A reception will follow the service in the fellowship hall of the church.  Burial will take place at a later date at Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Helena.   Donations can be made to the church of your choice in the name of Auntie Di.

Charlie, Jared, and family…..We are so deeply saddened and shocked by the news of losing our “Auntie Di” today. She was such a blessing to have in our lives and she will be missed by so many family members and friends. She loved life to the fullest and would do anything for anyone in a time of need. Auntie Di brought so much joy to everyone around her with her infectious laugh…oh how I will miss our hours of long talks and giggling. We loved you so much Auntie. You are all in our thoughts and prayers during this tragic time. Love, Kirsten

Still waiting for “Luna” to send me a text or put a post on my Facebook wall to say “Just kidding”, because that would be just like Diana. I miss you so much, and the incredibly loud music every time I would get in the car to go somewhere with you.

Charlie, Jared and family. I am in shock! Diana led me to the Lord in 1976. We played an on-line scrabble game just recently. I will miss her so much. My heart is heavy. She hung out with our family in Billings when Dennis had heart surgery. Loved her laugh, on the spur of the minute rides, just a great friend. We were at your wedding at her parents home.
She is now with Jesus whom she dearly loved. Goodbye my dear friend.

My deepest condolences to the family. Auntie Di was a great friend and ya couldn’t help but love her. She followed my music for many years and she loved to rock. No, wait, SHE LOVED TO ROCK! Trusting me with sapphires that her Dad had cut, I was honored to make jewelry for Di for a great many years. She was a giver, and man, did she ever love her family and friends. Thank you Diana, on so many levels. This ones gonna leave a welt. I’ll do another drum solo for ya next time we meet. Yea… even the 20 minute version. Peace, my friend.

Charlie and Jared, I am so sorry to hear that Di has passed away, she was a wonderful friend to me and so many other people. We spent many nights and days playing all sorts of games together and just hanging out being silly. I will miss her smile, laugh and funny jokes that only she could tell. We played The Word game on-line, so I felt a little connection to her even though I was miles away. I’m so glad she is in God’s hands now, what a blessing. My condolences.
