FISCHER, Delores (Doty)
On June 28th we lost a wife, mother, grandmother and friend. Delores (Doty) Pauline Fischer was born January 17, 1937. She was 75 when she lost her battle with pancreatic cancer. Doty was born in Whitehall Montana to Elso Patacini who passed away May 20, 1960 and Mary Delores Bianco, who passed away November 14, 1995. Delores’s sister, Tina LeClaire resides in Anaconda with her husband Wally. During Doty’s illness Tina and Doty’s daughter in law Jenny Davis would travel from Anaconda every other week and help with the house cleaning and laundry, this was greatly appreciated by all the family members.
Doty was an amazing cook. She could pull left over’s out of the refrigerator and make a nine course meal. She enjoyed gatherings and loved spending time with her family. Her quick wit was an antidote to even troubled times. She was creative and enjoyed all sorts of crafts. She had a keen eye and made everything beautiful. Doty had numerous friends and acquaintances. She was a great friend to have. She would unselfishly give her time to anyone who needed help. Many of these friendships were established at her various work places.
She was a waitress at the Park Cafe in Anaconda for over 10 years. This is where she met Lawrence (Larry) Victor Fischer whom she married July 19th, 1974. The couple moved to Helena and Doty worked as a cosmetologist for Buttreys/Osco until she retired in 1995. After retirement Larry and Doty spent winters in Yuma, Arizona. They owned a park model and Doty was the Entertainment Director for the Shangri La Park. They would leave in December and return late April. People have commented that she was the best director they ever had and the park was not the same after she quit.
In addition to countless friends Doty had 6 children, 12 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Her six children are Rhonda (Paul) Greenough, Dannette (Bill) Souza, Jeffrey D. Lutey, Dwane (Jenny) Davis, Scott D. Davis and significant other Kelleen Blake; and Debbie (Kenneth) Zipperian. She loved her grandchildren Stacey (Chris) McClincy, Nichole (Galen) Purfeerst, Jessica (Shawn) Sanford, Mike Lutey, Melissa Lutey, Holly Lutey, Heather Lutey, Dennis Davis, Cassandra Davis, Danielle Davis, Dylan Davis and Wyatt Zipperian. Her great grandchildren are Alyson and Mac McClincy and Anden Purfeerst.
So remember her fondly and cherish the time you shared. The world is truly a better place because she lived, loved and laughed.
Funeral Services will be held at noon Monday, July 9, 2012 at the Cathedral of St. Helena, 530 North Ewing Street. A reception will follow the service in the Brondel Center at the Cathedral. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to St. Peter’s Hospice, 2475 Broadway.

Larry, Scott, Dwayne & Family,
I just wanted you to know I’m keeping you all in my prayers… Doty was such a special lady, she adopted so many of us strays and took us under her wing. She was a mom to so many of us… Her humor was remarkable along with her ability to do any and everything without messing her hairdo!!! The only time I was ever truly scared was the day Mark Murphy blasted her in the back of the head with a super soaker! I’d never heard a Parental figure drop the F-bomb before!!! I loved Doty!

Larry and family,
I am so sorry to hear of the passing of Doty. I was just a little girl about 5 or 6 when I first met Doty, what a wonderful woman! My dad Bob Kelley was the pharmacist at Buttrey’s and everytime we came to see him, we always ran over to the cosmetics to see Doty. She would walk us around the perfume’s and lipsticks which was soo exciting for 2 little girls! She always had a huge smile and open arms to always give us the best hugs. Our family often talks about our “Helena days” and Larry and Doty always come up. I hope you all take comfort in knowing how special she was to so many people and how much love everyone who she ever met had for her. May she rest in peace and in our hearts.
