Dolores Rose (Barrett) Sharpe died unexpectedly of natural causes Saturday, October 1, 2011, surrounded by family. She was born October 4, 1930, to Paul and Viola Barrett and was raised on the family ranch near Hobson, Montana. Her fondest memories were of those years and, later, returning to visit the old homestead at every holiday – regardless of weather. She married Tom Sharpe July 15, 1951, and raised five daughters, living first in Lewistown and then in Livingston, MT. Dolores moved to the Helena community 33 years ago. She worked primarily in bookkeeping, retiring from Shodair Hospital when she was 70 years of age. Dolores enjoyed the outdoors, hiking in the mountains, and tending her flower gardens.
She was preceded in death by both parents and three brothers, Gene Barrett, Fred Barrett, and Patrick Barrett, as well as a daughter, Paula (Hodik) Paulson and a son-in-law, Dennis Hodik. She is survived by four daughters: Sandee Sept (Jerry) of Helena, Tina Taylor (Dana) of Livingston, Kathi Tronstad (Mark) of Billings, and Tammy Prout of Helena as well as nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, October 8, 2011 at the Anderson Stevenson Wilke Funeral Home with a reception to follow at the funeral home. To offer a condolence or share a memory of Dolores, please visit: www.aswfuneralhome.com.
