Donald Wayne McFarlane passed away Friday, December 8th, 2023 in his home in Helena Montana. He was born January 23, 1951 to Wayne and Joanne (Hossfeld) McFarlane. He was the youngest of two children.
He graduated from Jefferson High School in Boulder Montana. Upon graduating high school, he enlisted and served 6 years in the Navy. During his time in the Navy, he met his dearly beloved wife, Nancy. They were married for 43 years on December 28, 1971. Upon an Honorable discharge from the Navy, Don then attended college at U of M, Missoula where he received his Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy. Together, Don and Nancy had four children named Stuart, Stephanie, Wayne, and Scott.
Don was a pharmacist by trade which allowed him to support his family. He retired from this field in 2014 and was able to enjoy his remaining years in his home in Helena where he and his wife had their dream home built. He spent his time tinkering, creating, and improving on ways of overcoming problems that would help others. He was bright and creative by nature.
Don was preceded in death by his wife of 43 years, as his son Wayne, and both of his parents. Survivors include his brother Larry McFarlane and his children Stuart, Stephanie, and Scott. He has chosen to be cremated and will be buried alongside his son and beloved wife in Missoula sometime this Spring.
